Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.
Vince Lombardi
One man can be a crucial ingredient on a team, but one cannot make a team.

Life begins when you get out of the grandstand into the game.

The Full Moon falls on March 10 in the United States and March 11 in Australia. The Sabian Symbol is Virgo 21: A Girl's Basketball Team. This degree talks about people teaming up; banding together and working together for a common goal. There's the give and take and taking turns in playing one's role; sometimes you're on the edges of the court and other times you're the star shooter going for the objective to score. In an organized team with rules to follow, everyone has their place and needs to work together. A disorganized arrangement just won't cut it nor will being all over the place or merely working alone.
Of course, we can work alone, but we need our support systems, our teams, our friends and family, those we can count on. Here "A Girl’s Basketball Team" is pictured. They may be lighthearted about their game, enjoying the fun, the friendship, and the sportsmanship. Whether this is a professional or amateur game, there is a need to cooperate with others and to play by the rules to achieve the "Team’s" goals. Some on the team may take the outcome very seriously, like it's a 'life and death' situation. Playing the game to the best of their ability is necessary, as they will be judged by the others in the team, their coach and those on the sidelines. Popularity is often a factor, with some being star players and trendsetters and others merely making up the numbers, there to close the gaps and pass the ball. We all play our part, that's what being human is about; sharing and caring and having a sense of belonging.
Chatter and gossip can feature with this degree; the "Girls" giggling, talking and sharing their stories.
Some of the more difficult aspects of this degree are: Forcing others to compete on the same level without regard for differences. Finding it difficult to play by the rules or cooperate. Bitchiness and rivalry taking the fun out of playing. Petulance and spitting the pacifier. Some being stars while others are merely drones. Taking things too seriously. Tantrums. The desire to win at all costs. Not passing the ball. Being selfish and wanting the limelight.
Another thing is caring too much about outcomes. So you don't win, score the right goal, don't get your name in the newspaper - those kinds of things.
Overall, of course, this is a fine Symbol of getting along with everyone. Women friends may feature more in this full Moon, but this Symbol doesn't exclude men; it could easily be A Boy's Basketball Team - one has to link more with the sentiment than the literal meaning. "Girls" implies things feminine, the sharing and caring, along with the perils and pitfalls of being together.
I'm hearing of so many relationships breaking up. It's not an easy time and many are emotional, upset, freaking out and losing the plot. Venus is retrograde in Aries and for this full Moon it's on Aries 16: Brightly Clad Brownies Dancing in the Warm Dying Light. Soon after the full Moon, Venus moves onto Aries 15: An Indian Weaving a Blanket in the Light of the Setting Sun. This degree speaks about weaving one's life, the fabric of one's being, handing down stories, the warp and weft of life. It's also about crafts and handiwork and making a living.
Both Aries 16 and 17 speak of the light fading in the day. This correlates mostly with a time of evening and quiet; a time to refresh, nourish and rejuvenate the body. Many people are reporting being tired and listless. Some are saying it's hard to get out of their own way. Whatever, this is a time of looking after your own needs as well as those of others. Yes, we have to operate in a team and be mindful of others' needs, but we also have to step back for some quiet time.
Further to difficulties with relationships is Jupiter on Aquarius 15: Two Lovebirds Sitting On a Fence and Singing Happily. A lot of "love birds" are not singing happily - they are feeling divided by that fence. Many feel they are waiting for things to improve, sitting on the fence.
Finding quiet time is not always easy with this full Moon playing right into the Saturn/Uranus opposition. This opposition is calling for movement forward while asking that we stay with the tried and true, to break out of constraints while staying with what works, to trust that all will be ok while listening to the messages of doom and gloom we're seeing in the media and everywhere.
Staying optimistic is our number one goal. Saturn wants us to win also, in his own way. The Sabian Symbol is Virgo 19: A Swimming Race. This reflects a lot on the goals of the Girl's Basketball Team. Saturn, of course, can have us feeling like we're swimming through molasses. Are we really getting anywhere? What's the rush? Why the need to win?
Keywords: Looking sideways to see how others are coping with the strain of competition. Competing with one’s emotions. Capitalism. The striving for first place or greatness. Swimming, sports, competition. Wanting to be first at everything. Learning how fit one is. Concentrating on the goal. Medals and awards. Training and practice. Showing your abilities in front of others.
Having to prove one's self is also reflected in the position of Uranus: Pisces 23: A Materializing Medium Giving a Seance. We need to be alert to what's in the air, what's around us. There's a need to free earthbound or 'stuck' energies or entities. We should look at what we're "materializing" in our lives. It speaks of coming straight out with things, giving voice to spirit, seeing things ahead of their own time. The issue is to get straight on what is and what isn't true or worth pursuing in reality. Energy could feel as if it's coursing through us, needing an outlet.
Mars on
Aquarius 27: An Ancient Pottery Bowl Filled With Fresh Violets is asking that we stay soft, to show a purity of motive and feelings. Mars on this degree makes it somewhat hard. We may want to do quite the opposite, be a bulldozer and throw our weight around. The lesson here is to remember the feelings of others, not always easy, especially with Venus retrograde.
