November's Scorpio new Moon occurs on November 12 in Australia and November 11 in the United States. This new Moon contains some very powerful energy, and, it seems, that many issues, situations and people's lives are right on the brink of something brand new. Certainly, the old is shedding, and, sometimes it's at such a brisk rate that it can leave us a bit disoriented. As we head further down into the Rabbit Hole, we may find ourselves in a whole new understanding of the nature of reality and how we fit into that picture. That movie that we call our lives.
This blog entry/newsletter is very long. I could have included more, but felt the need to not feel like I'm writing a novel :) I've included several of the Karmic and Quest Degrees (click here to read about those definitions) for the planets as they are so telling, I didn't want to leave them out. I could have included more for sure, there is always more that can be said.
In a nutshell, this is a time for venturing down new pathways, even if we are unsure of where we are headed. A lot of people are going to be feeling the need to uproot and rid from their lives those issues, memories, grudges, emotions, people, possessions, opinions, living situations, beliefs about their lives, etc, and head down new pathways (Scorpio 20 - The Curtains).
We may have heard what others have been saying, or, heard messages from our own hearts and minds, from our angels and guardians, from our super consciousness or whatever, we may have heard messages that have been difficult to ignore. Issues to do with gossip and privacy can arise (Scorpio 19 - The Parrot).
Some may be 'resisting orders' and going AWOL, in more ways than one, while others may be wondering where everyone went (Scorpio 21 - The Soldier Going AWOL).
This is a hugely transformative new Moon and it is a fabulous opportunity to connect your thoughts with your hopes and dreams. Drawing aside those 'Two Dark Curtains' can lead you to new possibilities, new beginnings, etc. However, playing by the rules is certainly part of the equation, as Saturn is laying things on the line for many. Saturn on Sagittarius 5 can have us needing to make sure that nothing slips through the gaps and we have to be wearing our best outfits to fit the occasion (Sagittarius 5 - The Game Of Cricket)... all the while as Venus and Mars straddle the Moon's north Node in late Virgo/early Libra, smack on the Super Galactic Center (a center that is said to connect us with 'The Mind Of God').
Adding to the picture is Jupiter opposing Chiron. This brings us all the fabulous opportunity to 'rewrite the stories of our lives'. Many of us are thirsty for a 'better story', something that fits us far more readily than the stories we've been inhabiting. I see Chiron as The Stories We Tell Ourselves, and, with the opposition to Jupiter, there is the need, the possibility and the openings for exploring those new pathways, going through those new doorways.
The New Moon is on Scorpio 20: A WOMAN DRAWING ASIDE TWO DARK CURTAINS THAT CLOSED THE ENTRANCE TO A SACRED PATHWAY
This Symbol shows the ability or the need to be able to draw aside confusions or obstructions that impede your path or stop you from realizing where you could be or go. You, either alone or with others, may feel the need to venture down new “Pathways” or investigate new possibilities, but you will have to muster faith and overcome fear to enter these new realms, these “Sacred” places. You will require both courage and inquisitive desire. Venturing down these paths make it clear that your sphere of operation and action will become vastly enlarged with the new perspective that opens for you.
Keywords: Mysteries revealed, sometimes after a long wait. Feminine mysteries laid out before you. Woman's reproductive organs, especially the vagina. The mysteries of the Goddesses. Getting past things that are cloaked or shielded from entry or view. Sexual mysteries. Open Sesame. Clairvoyant readings that reveal the 'Path'. Invitations to the unknown. Drawing aside inhibitions. Following through on things. Undressing.
The Caution: Being seduced into dark and sinister things or being led astray. Not being shown the true picture or the truth. Frigidity and closing off sexual responses. Being, or feeling, shut out. Dark rooms with little sign of life.
The Moon symbolizes: Emotions, moods, mother, family, clan, domestic issues, relationship to home and country. Feelings, sentiments, nourishment, emotional nurturing, monkey chatter mind, lunar and menstrual cycles, clarity of emotions or lunacy. Female energy - yours and others.
The Karmic Condition (the degree before) for the Moon is Scorpio 19: A PARROT LISTENING AND THEN TALKING, REPEATS A CONVERSATION HE HAS OVERHEARD
What have you heard or observed lately that has been informing you of what you need to be doing, where to from here, etc? Have you had messages coming from outer or inner sources? Have you been paying attention? Are you tired of having your mind filled up with time wasting dramas or the world's problems? Is social media taking over a lot of your time and energy when you could, perhaps, be getting on with making more out of your minutes/hours/days/months/years?
This Symbol infers some level of spiritual channeling or the hearing and passing on of messages. Birds symbolize spiritual forces and “Parrots” symbolize the ability to be able to give voice to messages. This Symbol indicates that someone who is receptive to thoughts and ideas can process information to the point where it becomes their own, although they may really be a channel or a translator rather than an originator of these messages or realizations. Perhaps there is a need integrate new understandings into your consciousness, to make a belief system or a code of living truly your own with your own stamp of individuality on it.
Keywords: Transmitting information or knowledge. The need to integrate things into consciousness. Recorded messages. Answering and fax machines. Mumbling. Translators, birds, parrots, news reporters, stool pigeons. Telephone operators. Messages from strange places. Automated responses. New languages. Talking to animals. Talkback radio.
The Caution: Rote responses that are ill considered. "Towing the party line" without having any opinion of your own. Going over the same territory. Losing true meaning through repetition. Repeating without knowing the real meaning or purpose. Meaningless banter. Tunnel vision. Gossiping. Missing the essence of what's being said. Not having a mind of one's own. Brainwashing. Re-runs of the same old line. Broken records.
The Quest Symbol (the degree following) for the new Moon is Scorpio 21: OBEYING THEIR CONSCIENCE, A SOLDIER RESISTS ORDERS
After the realizations from recent messages and insights, after drawing aside the curtains and venturing down new pathways, there may be a need to either opt out completely, or, take a breather from the things you normally devote a lot of time and energy to. It could be that others around you are not living up to their duties or the expectations of others, or, often, not living up to their own expectations. Saying NO to those things that run counter to your conscience, or your sense of what is right or right or good or bad or whatever, can give you a sense of relief as you shed those things that are no longer needed on your journey on that pathway.
This Symbol shows someone whose “Conscience” stops them from following a certain course of action, staying with a project or relationship when they’d rather leave, or, someone not prepared to compromise their values to do something that society says they must do. You may find yourself in situations where what you are expected to do is against your inner values, your conscience or how you see your future unfolding. You may have to make the difficult choice between allegiance to duty or your own inner truth. True freedom can only be found when one faces situations with a sense of integrity and preparedness to face the consequences, be they positive or negative.
Keywords: Personal morality. Doing what one's conscience dictates. Going against the status quo. Doing the unexpected. Going by the promptings of the inner voice. The consequences of having a conscience. Not coming home. People clinging to each other. Love that restrains.
The Caution: Displaying cowardice or a lack of courage to act. Not doing what one is expected to do. 'Going over the top' in a wild and crazy way. Going AWOL. Being the one who lets everyone down. Court Martials. Antisocial behavior. Anarchists. Being "uncommitted" or "unavailable". Choosing play instead of duty. Goofing off.
A New Moon symbolizes: The new Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings and realisations. It's like a birth after a time of gestation or being 'in the womb'. Here, the light begins to return and we can see new beginnings and possibilities. A new Moon means that the Sun and the Moon are both together - bringing a synergy of their energies together. The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life.
Mercury is on Scorpio 16: A GIRL'S FACE BREAKING INTO A SMILE
We may well have things to smile about, but even if we don't, it can help to break the spell of difficulties that may have been hanging in the air. Part of the Girl's Smile is her knowing that she can look after herself (not the Quest Degree following this one). It's by smiling and drawing people to you that you can find more and more opportunities to find something to smile about. :)
This Symbol shows the ability to, or the necessity of, putting on a happy face, smiling and being warm and welcoming. The fact that the “Girl’s Face is Breaking” into a smile implies that she may not always be smiling; she may not always have things to smile about. However, the act of smiling helps to draw people closer; to give people permission to get to know you. Smiling is the simple sense of inner happiness shining through. The Quest Degree for Mercury is Scorpio 17: A WOMAN, FILLED WITH HER OWN SPIRIT, IS THE FATHER OF HER OWN CHILD
Many are finding themselves with not much support from family or friends. And, as things have been fairly hectic for so many, it is not a wonder why - people are busy trying to make their lives 'work'. Day in and day out, we need to be independent and trusting in the goodness of life to sustain us.
This shows the ability, or the need, to be totally self-sufficient and responsible for one’s life. Often, there’s the issue of single parenthood, or the sense of having to raise yourself without too much input from others, or, coming from a broken family where someone had to take on the role of both mother and father. It can show someone that doesn’t require assistance for even the most complicated tasks, or you feel you can't ask; perhaps there’s no one to ask or you feel that others couldn’t do anything as well as you. We are all blessed with individual qualities and it is the combination with other individuals that creates greater balance and depth.

Venus is on Libra 4: A GROUP OF YOUNG PEOPLE SIT IN SPIRITUAL COMMUNION AROUND A CAMPFIRE
Venus, Mars, and the Moon's north node are currently traversing over the Super Galactic Center (SGC). This brings up big possibilities of connecting in more and more strongly with the Law Of Attraction - to connect with the 'Mind Of God'. The SGC is a super powerhouse of energies and Venus and Mars are bound to be bringing up more and more relationship and/or money issues for many. Getting clear about your objectives can help bring in the magic of the SGC - an energy that is available to all of us presently.
This Symbol implies the desire or need to be with others who share similar feelings, aspirations, goals and beliefs. There is a common focus here amongst the “Group” that opens up to creative and enlivening possibilities. There may be the feeling of being ‘out there’, in the ‘wilderness’, and you may be in some way, whether you’re miles from anywhere or you’ve been bought together by something very unique or unusual. It may be important to keep in mind that you don’t have to go alone; there is a “Group” of people who share the same beliefs and concerns. Gathering with them will lift your spirits. The “Campfire” can be anything that unites people in a common cause.
Keywords: Material concerns left behind. Pioneering with likeminded others. Sweat lodges. Walks in the woods. Scouts and Girl Guides. Men's groups, women's groups. ESP. Kindred spirits. Soul mates. Unity. Fellowship. Campfires. Camping. Friends and companions. Spiritual circles.

This is such a wonderful Symbol and it does well when connecting in with others in a learning and sharing environment. Libra 4: The Young People In Spiritual Communion degree shows how we are (and can be if not) surrounded by those who hold the same goals, same spiritual beliefs, same flesh and blood needs for camaraderie and sharing.
This Symbol pictures sudden, new beginnings happening in one’s life. Things can change so quickly that it’s hard to believe at first, but eventually it dawns on you that things are different in the light of a “New Day”. Take heart, realize that the darkness is abating, gradually let go of what went before and embrace the new opportunities that beckon. This can show someone who moves around a lot or goes through several big transformations in their lives or have to weather big changes that often come up. However, there’s a need to guard against being fickle and wanting to move on too readily when one should perhaps stay with a situation and work on it.
Keywords: New perspectives and realizations. Waking up to a whole new consciousness or sense of reality. Emerging from depression. Huge changes that erase things that mattered before. Radical shifts. Major life experiences. Being reborn. Events out of nowhere. Changes of fortune. Revitalized perspectives. Coming out of a sleep.

The Quest Degree for Venus is Libra 5: A PERSON TEACHING THE TRUE INNER KNOWLEDGE OF THE NEW WORLD TO THEIR STUDENTS

Whether you are a “Student” or a “Teacher”, information is available to you and others and there’s much to be learnt. The “True Inner Knowledge” may be conventional teachings or wisdom, although it’s more likely to be more modern concepts that are being passed on as this is about “The New World”. Turning to others to receive guidance. Speaking one's truth. Instinctual knowledge. Pioneers on the path. Teachers and students. Secrets of the new age.
The Caution: Dogmatism. Feeling that one person has the only true answer. Feelings of being highly "evolved" and holding it over other people's heads. Arrogance. Evangelism. Telling others "how it is", regardless of how they feel. Gurus and cult dogma. The blind leading the blind.
Mars is on Virgo 30: HAVING AN URGENT TASK TO COMPLETE, A PERSON DOESN'T LOOK TO ANY DISTRACTIONS
This Symbol implies the need for single-mindedness in application. 'Distractions' can lead one astray and waste valuable time, with the end result of not completing what one sets out to do. Indeed you can find yourself not even starting what you need to be starting. Although, with this Symbol around, you can be the type of person who won’t let anything get in the way of completing objectives. The trick is not to get lost in the details. Keeping a list of goals can help focus on what needs to be done. Pushing through with the work, avoiding temptations regardless of what's going on around you will bring the rewards of completion.

Blocking out the external world in order to achieve complete focus on a situation or state of mind. Religious experiences. Maintaining one direction. Seeing something through to completion. Mars is heading over the SGC in the next week or so, along with Venus, so, we have an opportunity to examine our lives, learn from the past, to make new affirmations and move into a better state of being. We may, however, have to travel our own path and not be too influenced by others' opinions or small-mindedness along the way. How much of what you take in everyday as 'news' or 'information' is actually useful to you?
This Symbol shows the gaining of knowledge, insights and revelations from learning or study. One can learn from the “Ancient” mysteries or from more modern books or publications. The learning is best used by translating the truths into practical applications in one’s life. Going back to the essential truths of the matter; the inner wisdom of the ages, can bring insights and knowledge that opens up whole new understandings. Modern solutions may or may not be so useful or interesting. Understanding will come through patient, steady work and illuminating inspiration.

Well I've been where you're hanging, I think I can see how you're pinned. Leonard Cohen
This Symbol implies something vital and beautiful being “Preserved” so the passing of time doesn’t age, decay or destroy it. Beauty in shape or form has been frozen in one moment denying the natural process of decay. An archetypal death is symbolized; a perfection through sacrifice. As inspiring as this process can be, this can bring difficulties in moving on or changing situations. People can feel stuck, like they have no choice, can’t move forward are trapped or are being used for something that they don’t agree with. However, this does bring some wonderful rewards with longevity and a sense of something eternally good attached to it.

It often shows up in situations where intuition or clairvoyant energies abound, but it can also show immature, inquisitive energies that want to delve in deeply or to know about everything. The “Ouija Board” is a tool that gives assistance to focus on messages coming through. Of course, many different tools are available in the form of tarot cards, I Ching coins, etc. Youthful attempts at using these energies to discover the deeper meanings of life can bring surprising results. This Symbol shows the desire of moving on to new thoughts, new lands, new ways of doing things, possibly even on to a new way of life. Setting out on a venture can lead you to “Promised Lands”, even if it’s sometimes somewhat risky to leave the safety and stability of home to strike out for unfamiliar destinations. Whether you are with someone or going alone, you are probably not really alone as there are likely to be others who share the same impulses. Saturn is on Sagittarius 6: A GAME OF CRICKET
This Symbol shows playing the game of life by the rules. Like the “Game of Cricket”, there are rules and guidelines to go by that need to be respected and observed. It is not so much the game that is important, but how it is played. Cricket is very much a ‘gentleman’s game’ and it is usually played by people who come together from all around in order to side with those they choose to play the game with. You will find that integrity is vital and your honesty will give you rewards, even if there is some initial sacrifice. Careful team work is needed to stop things getting through the gaps; everyone must, to some extent, keep on their toes. Playing by the rules. Stiff upper-lip responses. Seeing through the illusions of what constitutes ‘polite society’. Sportsmanship. Courtesy. Umpire’s decisions. Opposing teams.

The Karmic Degree for Saturn is Sagittarius 5: AN OLD OWL PERCHED HIGH UP IN A TREE
This Symbol implies being able to quietly observe what’s going on around you. Owls can turn their heads right around and very little escapes their attention. They’re not easily detected in the trees as they usually only come out at night. They wait, watch and listen before making their move. The wise “Owl” sees all, seeing what others miss, and keeps very quiet whilst digesting all that's going on. There may be a need to consult with aged wisdom, either within yourself or from without. Saying nothing when one should be saying something. Inability to sleep soundly.
The Quest Degree for Saturn is Sagittarius 7: CUPID KNOCKING AT THE DOOR OF A HUMAN HEART
With Saturn moving onto this degree soon, we'll most likely be seeing a reflection of how we may keep cupid from calling by. Saturn here can have us with strong boundaries and a little shy and afraid to really let love in. However, doing the work of opening the heart can and will work wonders, but we must open ourselves up to it.
This degree shows the spreading of love and showing how people can love one another. “Cupid” is “Knocking”, asking to be let in. Barriers and defenses around people’s hearts may be keeping him from getting in, but how long will they be able to resist? Opening your heart and opening the door will lead to new opportunities and realizations about relationships. What are the true depths of your relationships? Uranus is on Aries 18: AN EMPTY HAMMOCK
This Symbol shows issues of working hard versus taking time out to relax. If you find that you are being too hard on yourself, this Symbol implies that you need to know when to stop, rest and recuperate. Regardless of how much one has to do, it's no crime to stop to regain your strength. You needn't sacrifice your opportunity to rest for someone else. Everyone is entitled to their share of peace and pleasure. How about lounging around and taking it easy for a change? Sometimes you need a chance to day dream. On the other hand, have you been slacking off and not getting into what you could be doing?

Too much work and no play. Areas of life which are not fulfilled. Having so much work there's no time for relationships. Always being on the go.
Uranus symbolizes: The unexpected, things that are individual or 'different'. Charged, energetic dynamics, electricity, light, lightning bolts, sudden changes, those who live on the fringe of society. Sudden turns and twists of fate. Rebellion, surprises, liberation, freedom.
Neptune is on Pisces 8: A GIRL BLOWING A BUGLE
