The Aries full Moon occurs on October 16, and, it's a big one with Uranus and Eris smack up against it. It's the last full Moon before the US presidential elections, and, all sorts of interesting, new, intense, alarming, shocking, irritating, provoking, etc, things are likely to pop up. With Uranus and Eris along for the ride, it could feel a lot like a roller-coaster, a type of liberation, or, an earthquake. As always, with Uranus so strongly in the mix, it is impossible to say exactly what will happen, but most certainly, a lot of things are going to get a good shake-up. Many things could radically change, or, at least, we might get the sense that some situations, issues, relationships, commitments, etc, need to have a complete overhaul.
This full Moon is exactly conjunct Eris, the goddess of discord, strife, chaos, militantism and taking on battles, indeed warring for a cause. Her name is the equivalent of the Latin "discordia". For one fosters evil war and battle, being cruel: her no man loves; but perforce, through the will of the deathless gods, men pay harsh Strife her honour due.
But the other is the elder daughter of dark Night (Nyx), and the son of Cronus who sits above and dwells in the aether, set her in the roots of the earth: and she is far kinder to men. She stirs up even the shiftless to toil; for a man grows eager to work when he considers his neighbour, a rich man who hastens to plough and plant and put his house in good order; and neighbour vies with his neighbour as he hurries after wealth. This Strife is wholesome for men. And potter is angry with potter, and craftsman with craftsman and beggar is jealous of beggar, and minstrel of minstrel.
I include the two quotes from Hesiod's works in order to show that this is what is happening very much in society at the moment. Women's issues are at the fore, and, we are having conversations that many of us might have thought that we should be finished with by now. The rights of women are front and center in a lot of what is coming up, socially and politically. Eris is being stirred up by Uranus, and this energy seems to be saying 'enough!'.

Uranus and Eris have been together since mid 2016, and, we can see how much women's issues; issues to do with rape, being sexually assaulted, side-lined and marginalised, abused in so many ways, etc, have come into sharp focus. In fact, a lot of anger has been brewing and releasing, releasing and brewing, over the course of the last several months. So now we have the full Moon exactly together with (conjunct) Eris (and Uranus), throwing up the energies and bringing up issues to do with justice, equality and fairness and women's rights. From Hesiod's quoted text above, we can see that people are pitted against people, along gender issues, political issues, etc, and the energies have ramped up so much that sometimes it's difficult to see where the anger, upset or sense of outrage even begins.
Gender issues or not, the old political maxim of "divide and conquer" is being used to great effect nowadays, as it has been used for a long time, only things seem to be heating up in so many ways that it can feel more urgent, more dividing, more now-is-the-time.
Mercury, on this full Moon, is on Libra 16: AFTER A STORM, A BOAT LANDING STANDS IN NEED OF RECONSTRUCTION, and it is exactly square Pluto. This can bring up a lot of intense energies as well. There may be a general feeling of wanting to 'get to the bottom of things', to delve into situations, relationships, memories, etc, in order to find the truth, or, perhaps to reveal the secrets that we want to find those answers for. It's interesting to note that the Sun was on this degree when hurricane Matthew hit Haiti and the east coast of the US. We may find that this full Moon brings an eruption of anger, ambition and people pushing their agendas. Certainly, feelings are likely to be ramped up considerably.
And, Mars is in the mix with Mercury and Pluto, and, just a few days after the full Moon, Mars and Pluto meet up on Capricorn 16: BOYS AND GIRLS IN GYMNASIUM SUITS - 'locker room conversations', or, respect for the sexes from both sides.
The Saturn/Neptune square that we've been experiencing for month after month lately is now finishing up. THAT will lighten up the energies considerably, which will be a relief for many. The last few years have felt to many as if we are trying to navigate through quicksand; we weren't sure if what we were seeing was real, or, we were trying to see what wasn't there with phantoms, ghosts and apparitions when we needed to see what was real, what was truly in front of us, what was actually happening.
It IS a relief that this square is now winding down, but, many people are frustrated (some downright angry) with their outcomes, or, issues where they feel that they were misled, lied to or taken advantage of. On the other hand, some people, of course, are coming out of this period having made their dreams into reality, but, that has taken quite a considerable amount of plowing through, and, probably a decent amount of good luck thrown in for good measure.

The full Moon each month marks a time of heightened energies and events. It often marks the culmination of the energies released at the new Moon. Emotions can be supercharged as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac and illumination is increased - it's like we can see in the dark - and we can be hyper-aware as well as being hyper-awake. The effects of a full Moon can be major or minor, depending on how they interact with your own chart. Sometimes, realisations or events that are unleashed, or unlocked, can stretch their meaning months into the future. A lot can be learned at the time of the full Moon and whether it's lunacy or illumination, or a combination of both, there's magic unleashed with every full Moon.

The full Moon is on Aries 24: AN OPEN WINDOW AND A NET CURTAIN BLOWING INTO THE SHAPE OF A CORNUCOPIA - the following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom Commentary: ‘An Open Window and a Net Curtain Blowing into the Shape of a Cornucopia’ is a Symbol of abundance and prosperity. Abundantia was a Roman goddess of abundance, prosperity and good fortune. She has the ‘Cornucopia’, the “horn of plenty”, from which she distributes grain, money, fruits, flowers and food. In fact, all that one truly wants is represented as sitting in the “horn”. The wind blows in the ‘Open Window’ and reminds us of the beauty, joy and richness of life.
Oracle: We often long for those things that we want and this Symbol shows that something is most probably coming your way. ‘An Open Window and a Net Curtain’ suggests that with the slightest change of direction in the wind, our fortunes can change. Quite possibly something is coming that has many promises. What actually arrives on your doorstep may or may not be exactly what was wished for, but it is very likely to be somehow rewarding. How wonderful and yet surprising would it be if what you wanted actually did manifest? This could be a time of the realization and enjoyment of layers of spiritual nourishment. This Symbol shows that what at first appears to be may reveal itself to actually be something else. Simple promises can be more complicated than first thought. The rational and emotional responses can conflict with each other; one wants something, the other wants something else. However, this can be the way to really view things, from an inner and outer perspective. Also indicates the choice that arises - of the heart and of social obligation. This Symbol can show imbalances of many kinds; physical, mental, spiritual or emotional. Understanding and accepting fragility and differences in our self and others can give greater empathy for those who have difficulty operating efficiently in the world. When the transformation into full potential occurs, it is wonderful, however, you may feel that you are unnaturally developed or somehow lopsided in the emotive, intuitive realms. Instinct may swamp logic or logic may take from instinct or intuition. Physically, one side of your body could work more efficiently or smoothly than the other. This Symbol shows enthusiasm, joy, confidence and the desire to greet each day with the anticipation of new opportunities. It is true that each day begins the same – the Sun comes up, the world is still spinning – but what the day will bring always holds a bit of a mystery. This is a joyous Symbol of greeting and heralding the day, but there can be a blurring of the concept of whether the “Chanticleer” (the rooster), causes or simply heralds the new day. You may be blessed with the voice to speak of new developments, to make announcements and wake everyone up to the realities of life. This Symbol implies the ability, or the necessity, of seeing far more in simple things than most people see. Instead of merely seeing “An Autumn Leaf”, “The Pilgrim” sees the cycle of life, the seed turning into the tree, the leaves turning in the autumn, etc, etc. There is far more to see than is first apparent. You may have learnt much and grown tired of seeking information about life through conventional channels. A sudden insight can lead to a whole new revelation of life and its processes. Mercury is on Libra 16: AFTER A STORM, A BOAT LANDING STANDS IN NEED OF RECONSTRUCTION
This Symbol shows the need to rebuild parts of our lives that get swept away in difficult situations or “Storms”. Even things built on solid foundations can be swept away by the tidal wave forces of life or the emotions. You may at times feel overpowered and that you need to pick yourself up in some way. You may have to reconstruct some usually secure part of your life, but you are wiser and will in future build something stronger. Finding tools to rebuild can create brand new opportunities on every level. A great use of this degree is to find yourself in the helping role or being a counselor for others who have difficult issues to deal with in their lives.

'Circular Paths' lead us around and there may indeed be a feeling of being back where you started, but remember the experience and learning you have gained on your journey to where you are now. There is a cosmic rhythm and cycle, but when you return to what seems to be where you started, you will have new experience and new skills. However, if you’re not getting anywhere it can be because of addictive behavior that continually leads to the same result.

Venus is on Scorpio 28: THE KING OF THE FAIRIES APPROACHING HIS DOMAIN
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to feel at ease and in charge of your home, territory or domain. You may have been searching for where you belong or where your “Domain” is. Although you may at times be off looking for this, feeling alien and alone won’t work; there's a need to feel accepted, welcomed and loved. There may be the feeling of wanting to be a dominant leader or having a doting populace. As long as egos are in control, this can be a fabulous experience of 'returning home', a nice, and calm and spiritual place to be. Also, this degree can show a world of one’s own creation or imagination – which can be fabulously rewarding although it can also be rather ungrounded in reality.

The Karmic Degree for Venus is Scorpio 27: A MILITARY BAND MARCHES NOISILY ON THROUGH THE CITY STREETS
This Symbol shows the need for occasionally making a show for society to remind ourselves of our successes and achievements, whether they are collective or personal achievements. The “Military Band” can make an enormous amount of noise as it “Marches Noisily”, but sometimes we need to be woken or reminded of the cohesion that a military band can show. Likewise, this can show someone that likes to bang their own drum or to make a big noise about themselves or for the establishment. As long as the audience is ok with this display, one can contain the reaction from others. Sometimes, though, people get annoyed by people banging their drums a little too loudly.

The Quest Degree for Venus is Scorpio 29: AN INDIAN WOMAN PLEADING TO THE CHIEF FOR THE LIVES OF HER CHILDREN
This Symbol implies the need, or the ability, to be an advocate for the rights of others, particularly youngsters or children, and being prepared to engage with others in order to bring about a desired result. You may find yourself standing-up for those in your care, or for those who need your care, whether it is your children, your ideals or creative pursuits. Even if they sometimes deserve rejection, punishment or judgment, the solution will possibly be found not in being defensive as in simply asking for consideration, mercy and leniency. This can also show bringing a healing to others, whether it’s through their own actions or through finding the healers that are needed to affect a cure.

Mars is on Capricorn 13: A FIRE WORSHIPPER MEDITATES ON THE ULTIMATE REALITIES OF EXISTENCE
This degree shows being able to focus thoughts, meditate, or to find your center. The “Fire Worshipper” can be intensely interested or passionate about something, throwing them selves into the middle of something, getting as much out of the experience, event or study as they can. You are likely to find yourself very focused, with a great passion for something that really ignites your interest. There could be a sense of danger in some respects, but also a sense of new beginnings. Harnessing your personal resources, particularly your rich inner life, can create magic. Look through appearances to get to the heart of matters.

This degree shows the ability to observe things that other people would miss. You can be an example to others for understanding the wonders of nature, weaving together issues to form a story, to “Lecture”, to inform others. Often, there’s a special talent around natural and alternative issues and it may be your job to show the way or to teach about nature or medicine or herbs, etc. Too much weigh has been given to the artificial needs of society and it’s time to redress the balance. Practical applications of knowledge can help people better understand. Revealing the truth can lead to wonder and awe, but also disbelief, it depends on how it’s delivered.
