Venus And Mars Pairing Up In Virgo - Stepping Up And Letting Go And Accepting Your Personal Power

Here we are, in early November, and we are about to experience the third of three conjunctions of Venus and Mars.

The following are the dates and degrees of these tie-ups between Venus and Mars:

  

February 22:  1° 47’ Aries

September 1:  14° 55’ Leo

November 3:  24° 11’ Virgo

We are now on the threshold of learning more and more about how we relate with ourselves and to others, and some of these lessons can not only change our relationships, but, we are able to ramp up our sense of self worth by seeing how we may be stuck in situations or giving our power away to others.

If you read through the following Sabian Symbol interpretations, no doubt you will see these themes for this Venus/Mars conjunction -

It is time to assess what is and what isn't worthy of your time, energy, attention or love. Anything that is out-moded, out-lived, useless to keep trying, etc, needs to be let go of now so you can move forward into a new reality without the past dragging you backwards. Assessing co-dependent and/or narcissistic behaviours in yourself or in those around you can lead to realisations where there's an imbalance of feelings and attachments. Like Mary and her white lamb, you may need to realise where you hang on in a co-dependant way. Has the horse bolted? Are you waiting for him/her/them, or, a situation, to come back?

October's full Moon occurs on the 27th, and, it brings a promise of breakthrough, especially if we are mindful of what is going on in our lives and how we can make our lives more rewarding and fulfilling. It pays, as always, to be mindful of the things that truly matter. With this full Moon, we have a big dollop of discerning what is important and what isn't. This is largely because of the Venus, Mars and Jupiter conjunction in Virgo, giving us the possibility, or the imperative, of being able to bring into reality the things that are truly real, or truly healing. 

In general, this period brings up the need for assessing relationships and how we are faring in that realm of our lives. Also highlighted are issues to do with health and our daily habits. With Mercury opposite Uranus in the lead-up to this full Moon, we are being given the opportunity to take a good look at reality versus fiction, to get a grasp on insights that illuminate the often hidden corners of our psyche, leading to a better sense of what is possible for us now. With the Moon's north node on the Super Galactic Center, we are being pushed to see where we are 'stuck' - pinned to thoughts, emotions, habits, realities, etc, that no longer serve us. It is through observing that sense of stuckness that we can free ourselves now.

September's full Moon is a total lunar eclipse and is the last in a series of tetrads - four eclipses in a row. Other eclipses in the tetrad are those of April 15, 2014, October 8, 2014, and April 4, 2015. The moon will appear to be larger than normal as the moon will be just 59 minutes past its closest approach to Earth in 2015 at mid-eclipse. It's a big one and it will be visible over Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. Further to the eclipse, we have the Moon's north node, Lilith, Juno, the Sun, and soon, again, Mercury, going over the Super Galactic Center (SGC). This is a very powerful time, the Symbols of which speak about an ascension in consciousness. Many have talked about September 2015 being a time of ascension, and I have been listening. September's new Moon occurs on September 13. It is a partial solar eclipse and it is quite a powerful lunation. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. A partial solar eclipse occurs in the polar regions of the Earth when the center of the Moon's shadow misses the Earth.This eclipse will be seen from southern Africa and Antarctica - so, unless you're down in that region of the world, you won't be seeing it. However, you may be feeling it. 

Although this eclipse is partial, it is nonetheless powerful. The new Moon (a new Moon is when the Sun and the Moon are on the same degree of the zodiac) is opposite Chiron, so we are likely to feel our 'wounds', our 'stories', coming up for revision. What are the stories you tell yourself? How do they effect you and your life? Are they worth clinging to? Do they take up too much space in your head/body/spirit? This Sun/Moon - Chiron opposition tells a story of the provision of food - getting our dietary requirements satisfied - finding ourselves fed (perhaps too much, too often, with the wrong nutrients) while others in the world starve or have to scratch for the small rewards they might find. In the Sabian Symbols 20+ of mutable (Gemini 21, Virgo 21, Sag 21 and Pisces 21) speak directly to the idea of food, nourishment, serving (and being served) food, the need for refrigeration, etc. It is very interesting to watch how these degrees manifest. 

Another aspect that is happening is the Jupiter and Neptune opposition. This can bring up issues to do with our dreams, our imaginations and imagining, our desires and how we would like to see our (the) world. This, especially in Virgo/Pisces, can be very sensitive. It can have us finding the glaring problems of the world too much to deal with; the ugliness, the needs of others, the crowding in, the responsibilities of our day to day lives, our need to find a mission or a dream that fits in with our visions. We may find ourselves learning, yet again, more lessons about humility, joy, letting go, being aware of others, etc. Decisions and announcements made around this time can range from the truly vacuous and fatuous all the way up to visionary and freeing. We dance the dance and we learn our lessons. The me versus you divisions of faith, religion and politics can divide us, or, they can bring us together. Part of the changing of the story of Chiron is finding it within ourselves to drop judgements, to drop the stories. Easier said, I know, but it is more and more freeing as we let those stories go. 

Further, Mercury is going retrograde just a few days after the new Moon. It is going retrograde on a degree that can talk about the need to rebuild our lives in some way. We may find that our 'boat landing' has been washed away; we can find ourselves with nowhere to dock, nowhere to land (whether this is physically, emotionally, financially, etc). We may need to reconstruct some aspect of our lives. Perhaps several aspects. We may also need to lend a hand to others who can't do it for themselves. Mercury will spend several days during this retrograde period squaring Pluto. This can bring up enormous stresses and strains. We can feel pushed to the limit and this can reflect through relationships of all kinds. We might find it hard to relax, hard to let go, hard to take some time out for ourselves. Where do we dock? Where can we find a safe harbour? Some decisions (obviously not all!) may have to be put on hold for the time being. Mercury is coming up to the opposition of Uranus when it goes retrograde. We have to revise some parts of our lives, or, give ourselves some time to work things out. We may also want to delve into some issues, to get to the bottom of some story, situation or relationship issue. With some careful digging, we can come up with gems that we only suspected were there. We just don't want to have to excavate our entire lives because, again, we might find ourselves unmoored or having nowhere to land. Moderation and one day at a time are key with this Mercury retrograde. There will be many things to deal with as Mercury goes over the middle degrees of Libra in a month or so time. 

The New Moon, a partial solar eclipse, is on Virgo 21: A GIRL'S BASKETBALL TEAM

This degree shows the need to see others as equals, not to put others down, or, indulge in catty remarks about how others are not as 'good' or as 'deserving of being in the game'. 

This Symbol implies joining with others and working as a team to achieve common aspirations. You may be into doing things by yourself, but you’ll still have interactions with others who will mould how you do things and how you’ll perform. There is a need to cooperate and play by the rules of the game to achieve your goals. Friends and those with similar interests will be able to join with you to achieve a mutually desired end. Are people hogging the ball, not passing it on to others? If so, that won't secure a ‘win’ for you or for the team. How would a referee call that?

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) of the new Moon is Virgo 20: A CARAVAN OF CARS HEADED FOR PROMISED LANDS

This Symbol has obvious and not so obvious connotations. Certainly we can see people all over the world moving, running, fleeing, traveling, changing, wanting to take off for pleasure, or, needing to take off because of pain. 

This Symbol shows the desire of moving on to new thoughts, new lands, new ways of doing things, possibly even on to a new way of life. Setting out on a venture can lead you to “Promised Lands”, even if it’s sometimes somewhat risky to leave the safety and stability of home to strike out for unfamiliar destinations. Whether you are with someone or going alone, you are probably not really alone as there are likely to be others who share the same impulses. Having a map of where you're going helps, as will a willingness to meet new people. The trick is often in deciding where the “Promised Lands” are and what you’ll do when you find them.

The Quest Degree for the new Moon is Virgo 22: A ROYAL COAT OF ARMS ENRICHED WITH PRECIOUS STONES

This Symbol speaks to the rather obvious need to see ourselves and others as worthy, loved, looked after - as equals. It's an ambitious desire, but I hope that we can make it. Further, there are so many caught up in fleeing that they don't have their personal papers - this can make it so difficult for them and for those who have to process their refugee status. What a mess. All people deserve peace and calm and a safe place to live. 

This Symbol implies is a strong connection to heritage and family lines. This can give rise to feelings of pride and honor as one accepts that a sense of nobility is one’s birth right. Even if there’s no actual nobility in your bloodline, there can be a sense of nobility about your character and bearing. There are things to stand up for and represent, regardless of where you come from and who your ancestors and your family are. Believing in yourself and your abilities will give you strength and stability and people will believe in your beauty, talent or worth, regardless of your background or where you’re from.

The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life

  Mercury is on Libra 15: CIRCULAR PATHS - this was the degree of Mercury on 9/11. We can find ourselves going around and around, thinking the same thoughts, repeating the same ol' same ol'. Mercury is getting set to go retrograde and it is square to Pluto. This is going to be a meaningful retrograde period, if nothing else! 

This Symbol implies issues to do with ever repeating cycles of activity that often lead one around in circles or back to where one began. 'Circular Paths' lead us around and there may indeed be a feeling of being back where you started, but remember the experience and learning you have gained on your journey to where you are now. There is a cosmic rhythm and cycle, but when you return to what seems to be where you started, you will have new experience and new skills. However, if you’re not getting anywhere it can be because of addictive behavior that continually leads to the same result.

The Quest Degree for Mercury is Libra 16: AFTER A STORM, A BOAT LANDING STANDS IN NEED OF RECONSTRUCTION

This Symbol shows the need to rebuild parts of our lives that get swept away in difficult situations or “Storms”. Even things built on solid foundations can be swept away by the tidal wave forces of life or the emotions. You may at times feel overpowered and that you need to pick yourself up in some way. You may have to reconstruct some usually secure part of your life, but you are wiser and will in future build something stronger. Finding tools to rebuild can create brand new opportunities on every level. A great use of this degree is to find yourself in the helping role or being a counselor for others who have difficult issues to deal with in their lives.

 Venus is on Leo 16: BRILLIANT SUNSHINE JUST AFTER A STORM. This probably needs little or no intepretation. I guess we are being asked to make hay while the sun shines :)

This Symbol implies situations where storms come through one’s life on a periodic basis; sweeping away elements of life that have been clogging up situations, clearing the air and resolving issues. It also shows the ability to be able to pick one’s self up after some difficulty or crisis. The trick is to notice the gift of the brilliant sunshine as the clouds part and life takes on a calmer, happier tone. The worst is probably over and situations can resolve themselves; things dry out and recovery begins. There is probably always more cleaning up and work to be done, but one should enjoy the release and pleasure of the relief that follows a storm.

 Mars is on Leo 23: A BAREBACK RIDER IN A CIRCUS DISPLAYS THEIR DANGEROUS SKILL. Are you ready for what you're doing? What you're about to be doing? Do you feel you can run into the circus ring now? 

This Symbol shows situations of showing one’s talent, training, skills and bravery to others.
The ‘Bareback has trained and practiced for the performance and is up and ready to show their abilities to others. A sense of balance combined with timing is vitally important otherwise you could be thrown mid-way through your performance. Although you may believe passionately in what you are doing, you may put yourself at risk to present your abilities, skills and emotions boldly and skillfully. Done correctly, this will not doubt impress others most of the time, but be wary of running into the ring unrehearsed. Being well trained and fit and ready helps.

 Jupiter is on Virgo 8: A YOUNG PERSON TAKES THEIR FIRST DANCING LESSON

This Symbol shows the periodic need to learn lessons in life. Although you may know a lot, there often comes periods when you realize that there is far more to learn. Perhaps you will be the “Young Person”, or the one giving the “Dancing Lesson” – the teacher. Sometimes you are new to situations and need to learn, other times you show others the way. The secret to success with this degree is to always be learning, always taking in lessons that life serves up to you. You have the potential to do well, but initially things may seem difficult or unfamiliar. The willingness to learn new steps in life helps, as does taking 'instruction'.

 Saturn is on Scorpio 30: CHILDREN IN HALLOWEEN COSTUMES INDULGING IN VARIOUS PRANKS. Thankfully, Saturn is on the last gasp of Scorpio and is about to head into Sagittarius. It's been a rather gruelling couple of years. Hallelujah (although there are those, understandably, who might not be celebrating :) !)

This Symbol implies that society needs to have an outlet for disruptive energies, and to have periodic displays of fun, even indulging in somewhat disruptive pranks. You may feel that the trickster in you needs to be let out every now and then, or you may be the focus of tricks by others. Whichever, it should be acknowledged that there needs to be an occasional outlet for immature or fun loving energies, as long as there's no harm done. This Symbol can refer to somebody who doesn’t take anything too seriously. The time of Halloween is the time when the veil between the living and the dead becomes very thin.

 Uranus is on Aries 20: A YOUNG PERSON FEEDING BIRDS IN WINTER. There are so many who need help. So many who require assistance. We receive by giving, but, with Uranus on this degree, there will be those who will not be happy to see people being rescued or helped. What a world we live in. 

This Symbol shows the ability to help those in need of help, to provide safety, security, nourishment or emotional support, especially to those who may not know how to solve their problems themselves. There are those that stubbornly resist moving on or changing their habits, even if it is to their detriment, and providing them with a safe harbor can bring many rewards. This is about sharing and caring. Nonjudgmental attitudes can move you to help them and lead them to trust. A dedication to helping others has its own rewards.

 Neptune is on Pisces 9: THE RACE BEGINS: INTENT ON OUTDISTANCING HIS RIVALS, A JOCKEY SPURS HIS HORSE TO GREAT SPEED

This shows spurring to action when you need to, to rise to occasions that call for a sense of urgency or speed. Perhaps it's time to extract all the energy possible into situations. The “Race” is on, and you may feel that you can make it to the finish, but still are not guaranteed of victory. What efforts do you expend to push you faster and further than the rest of the field? Ensure that you're not expending all your energy too quickly and not really achieving anything of lasting value. Be wary of bolting out of the gate without knowing what your objective is.  The Moon's North Node is on Libra 1: A BUTTERFLY PRESERVED AND MADE PERFECT WITH A DART THROUGH IT. Here we are, as we have been for some few months, with the Moon's north node on the Super Galactic Center. We are being asked to identify where we are 'stuck'. Where are you pinned? I have made a youtube video about this - you can watch it here. I was rather tired (Saturn has been sitting on me like a bitch ;) ), but I felt to make it all the ame.

August's Piscean full Moon occurs on the 30th August in Australia and the 29th August in the United States. This is a variable full Moon in that it presents some big difficulties along with some wonderful opportunities for expansion, movement and love. This is an especially Neptunian Piscean full Moon as the Moon is only two degrees away from Neptune, and, the Moon will pass over Neptune (conjunct) within a few hours of the full Moon. 

Further, Jupiter is conjuncting the Sun and opposing the Moon. This can give rise to optimism and hope and the desire for travel and embracing the new. Further, we have Lilith, the Moon's north node and Mercury all together on the first three degrees of Libra, traversing the Super Galactic Center. It's high time to get your hopes and dreams and affirmations in order as we have a very strong chance of having them come true.

The Leo new Moon falls on August 15 in Australia and August 14 in the United States. [I feel I should point out that the new Moon occurs at the same exact moment for the entire world, the same instance in time, but Australia (and New Zealand and other Pacific nations) are ahead of the US in our measurement of time. I've had a few people asking me about this as they think we in Australia get the lunations (new and full Moons) after those in the States].

This new Moon has a curious feel about it as we're experiencing the 40 days and 40 nights of Venus retrograde at the same time. Further to that, Venus is conjunct (together with) the Sun and the Moon - a new Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon are exactly conjunct.

Venus being retrograde and conjoining this new Moon means, in essence, that we are retracing our steps when it comes to things Venusian - relationships, issues to do with money and property, beauty, our relationship with our body, our sense of the feminine principle etc, etc. We've had Venus meeting up with Jupiter these last few weeks, which brings up the need for expansion, building, taking risks, breaking out of past habits, going into new territory, etc, but we also had Venus and Jupiter together exactly squaring Saturn, which can bring up issues to do with depleting, letting go of things that were once thought to be solid, the need to budget and cut back, the feeling of going without, of letting go of the old, letting go of relationships and friendships that no longer work. Feeling the weight of ambition can lead us to realise where we might not have done our best. And with the amount of Saturn we've been having, we might feel the need for a break or a holiday. We can feel like lead balloons right when we feel the urge to push through with projects, our dreams, our desires, etc.

This Aquarian full Moon occurs on July 31. This is a rather remarkable full Moon as it is smack on when Venus goes retrograde for 40 days (and 40 nights). Venus just touches into Virgo ever so slightly and then retrogrades back into Leo. We then have the Sun, Jupiter, Mercury and Venus in Leo, making this period one that's largely focused on the idea of love, generosity, kindness, open hearts, creativity, along with the need to put yourself at the centre of your own universe - now is a great time to align with the things you're wanting to do, wanting to concentrate on, wanting to achieve. 

One of the big tests we've been facing these last few weeks and will be continuing over the next few weeks is Venus moving very, very slowly as it's going retrograde square Saturn moving very, very slowly in it's own retrograde motion. This can feel like trying to swim in glue - or molasses - and it can be a very trying time around issues to do with relationships (of all kinds), money and motivation. Saturn can be a hard task master and it can ask for a pound or two of flesh in exchange for getting your life more organised and under your control. Sometimes we have to submit and let go of things we really don't want to let go of, even if they are really not good for us. Sometimes, the world closes in and we have no choice but to just do a deep, big let-go.

July's Cancerian new Moon falls on July 15 in the United States and July 16 in Australia. This is a big new Moon, and one that will see many things changing. We have Venus about to go retrograde and it is conjuncting Jupiter and squaring Saturn - a contradiction in terms. Mercury and Mars are exactly conjunct smack opposite Pluto, so there are likely to be some explosive events, whether on a personal level or on the world stage, things are set to be interesting, to say the least. We have the Moon's north node traversing the Super Galactic Center, so we will see a lot more synchronicities, magical moments and manifestations of our thoughts, dreams and ideals. Chiron is trining this new Moon, so we have a wonderful opportunity to listen to and observe the stories we tell ourselves, and, it could be time to rewrite some, perhaps a lot, of those stories.

The Capricorn full Moon happens on July 1 in the United States and July 2 in Australia. (For those who don't realise, the full Moon happens at the exact same moment all across the world, however, Australia is almost a day ahead of the US - I mention this as some people think we, in Australia, have the new and full Moons after the US - not so! It happens everywhere at the same moment in time - it's just that time measurements have Australia, and New Zealand, ahead of the UK and the US). 

It seems that there's so much going on right now - like the energies have been ramped right up. We have the vote for marriage equality in the US, with some people threatening to set fire to themselves, or, as we saw in Australia, a conservative Christian couple threatening to divorce if the rights to gay marriage were enacted. It's been like a circus. It is always like a circus, but it feels like it's been ramped up. We have the situation in Greece, that will be interesting to watch. I wonder if they will leave the Eurozone and what that will mean in the long run. Of course, we have many, many other things happening. The TPP being introduced, for example. So many laws being introduced, most of which will have a detrimental effect on the people. Chiron on the 'Ten Commandments' degree is very telling, I feel :)  

There are brilliant things going on now, though. Absolutely wonderful. We have the Venus/Jupiter conjunction trining Uranus AND we have the Moon's north node traversing the Super Galactic Center (SGC), which adds to the magic and mystery of this amazing time. More on this below... 

Daily Rave June 23 2015 - Planes, Plain Sailing And The Super Galactic Center

I just recorded a Daily Rave on this current period with it's frustrations and limitations. But, there is so much more going on than that - in a week or two, we have Venus and Jupiter and Uranus performing significant magic, along with the fact that we currently have the Moon's north node going over the Super Galactic Center. Both of those things going on are reasons to celebrate!

 June's full Moon in Sagittarius is an interesting one, and one that could be rather difficult to navigate. The few weeks leading up to it have been fairly gnarly and stressful for many and we are being tested along the path it seems, with some people being tested rather severely. 

Occurring on June 3 in Australia and June 2 in the United States, it has some of the most compelling 'going on strike' degrees all lined up - more than I have ever seen before. The idea of 'striking or protesting' comes from the degrees that have also been emphasised through Mercury's retrograde, along with the Sun and Mars going over them as well - and, the Sun and Mars and Mercury will go over more and more 'going on strike' degrees in the few weeks after this full Moon. It is a curious time, and one that can have many wanting to spit the pacifier, be laying down new rules, finding new conditions laid down for them, having to move on from various life situations, etc. One thing is for certain, this is a meaningful full Moon and one will bring up quite a few issues for many.  Here's a Daily Rave audio I made about this - it's up on my website - click here.

May's Scorpio full Moon falls in the evening of May 3 in the US and the middle of the day on May 4 in Australia. The major aspect of this full Moon is the square from the Sun and Moon to Jupiter at Leo 14. This degree is very much about communications, communicating with others, receiving messages and inputs, along with sending them out to others. Pluto is also aspecting this lunation, bringing a sense of power and transformation to many situations that demand that we sit up and pay attention. 

The full Moon each month marks a time of heightened energies and events. It often marks the culmination of the energies released at the new Moon. Emotions can be supercharged as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac and illumination is increased - it's like we can see in the dark - and we can be hyper-aware as well as being hyper-awake. The effects of a full Moon can be major or minor, depending on how they interact with your own chart. Sometimes, realisations or events that are unleashed, or unlocked, can stretch their meaning months into the future. A lot can be learned at the time of the full Moon and whether it's lunacy or illumination, or a combination of both, there's magic unleashed with every full Moon.

April's new Moon falls on April 18 in the United States and April 19 in Australia. This is a very interesting new Moon and it feels like a breath of fresh air. It has it's pitfalls - they always do - but, it feels like an opportunity to really tune into life, love, the universe. We have Pluto and Mars in a trine aspect, giving us the ability to make changes, to get going with things, to exert our will, and, at the same time we have Neptune and Venus in square aspect, so we have to be very clear about our objectives and what we are and aren't prepared to do. Being aware of our limitations and boundaries can see us achieving a great deal with this new Moon, particularly with those things that are attached to our dreams as Neptune and Mercury are sextile to each other.

April's Libran full Moon is a total lunar eclipse. It is a 'blood moon' - sometimes used to describe a total lunar eclipse. When the Earth casts its shadow on a full Moon and eclipses it, the Moon may get a red glow. Total lunar eclipses are rare – only about one in three lunar eclipses are total. About four to five total eclipses can be seen at any place on Earth in a decade. Lunar eclipses usually do not occur in any specific order. However, every once in a while, four total lunar eclipses happen in a row. This is called a lunar tetrad. Click here for more information. 

This is yet another powerful full Moon, and, it is the last full Moon (and a lunar eclipse at that) that is involved so closely with the Uranus/Pluto square. We are seeing the winding up of that particularly huge social movement that we've been experiencing. Other things, of course, will take it's place, but, at least, we are seeing the end of the Uranus/Pluto squares that have been so incredibly intense and meaningful over the last 3 or so years. So, this powerful full Moon is opposite Uranus and square Pluto; it is yet another transformational lunation. This, then, is a major time of letting go - of purging those things that no longer work for you. Saying goodbye to things that are holding you back is key. Jupiter in Leo is sextile the Moon and trining the Sun, providing a way out - it can bring instances of good luck, serendipity and breakthroughs. 

The Sabian Symbol for the lunar eclipse is Libra 15: Circular Paths. The following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom. 

‘Circular Paths’ symbolize a situation where there is a continual coming round back to the same place. It can picture a pattern of going round and round, with no real outcome and no sense of a final destination. In some instances, this can be good, as it can be rather meditative but it can also prove to be a very real waste of time. This new Moon in Pisces occurs on the 20th March. It is a major new Moon, the third Supermoon of the year, and, because of when it falls - smack on the Equinox -  and the fact that it is a total solar eclipse, it may just be the biggest new Moon of 2015. This new Moon feels like an enormous emergence into a new way of being, a new way of living, a new and vibrant path on so many levels. PLUS, this period sees the end of the Uranus/Pluto square. We've had seven exact squares between Uranus and Pluto and this is the last gasp. Many will be breathing a sigh of relief. Many will be seeing whole new opportunities are are inherent in this fabulous new Moon.

March's full Moon occurs on March 6 in Australia and March 5 in the United States. This full Moon is in Virgo, which can be a rather sober sign, especially when it's on Virgo 15: The Lacy Ornamental Handkerchief. This can be quite a stoic, 'oh, don't worry about me, I'm alright', type of placement, but I think there are so many other things going on that belie the surface values of this Virgoan lunation. This is a rather Chironic full Moon with Chiron conjunct the Sun and opposing the Moon - the Sun is at Pisces 15, Chiron is on Pisces 18 and the Moon is on Virgo 15, so, both the Moon and then the Sun aspect Chiron soon after the full Moon. This interesting and rather rebellious Virgo full Moon leads up to the total solar eclipse on March 20, which is a fabulous eclipse and brings a promise of many new beginnings, new realizations and opportunities. First, though, we have a few issues to work through with this full Moon.

February's new Moon is a very, very, curious one. Occurring on February 18 in the United States and February 19 in Australia, it is right smack on the *very last minute* of Aquarius = 29Aquarius59. One minute after the exact new Moon, the Moon moves into Pisces and the Sun moves into Pisces two minutes later. To call this an Aquarian new Moon is, I believe, a misnomer = this is a Piscean new Moon - and how entirely Piscean it is as the first planet the Moon and then the Sun transits over after the new Moon is Neptune (the ruler of Pisces) in Pisces.

February's Leo full Moon falls on February 4 in Australia and February 3 in the US - I've had people ask me about this, many believe that, because it's one day later in Australia, that we get the new and full Moons later than the US. This is incorrect, of course, the lunations occur at exactly the same moment in time all over the planet, it's just that in Australia we are almost one calendar day ahead of the US). This Leo full Moon is one of considerable promise as it is conjuncting (together with) Jupiter - the Moon passes over Jupiter some hours after the exact full Moon and the Sun will be exactly opposite Jupiter. January's new Moon falls on January 20 in the United States and January 21 in Australia. This new moon is a 'supermoon' - our good friend Richard Nolle coined this phrase as ". . . a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth". for more on this phenomena, click here.  As such, it may be felt as a powerful new Moon, certainly, as we've been experiencing for quite a long time now, it is a time for insights, revelations and changes. 

The Sabian Symbol for the new Moon is Aquarius 1: An Old Adobe Mission In California. 

This is a symbol of man’s ability to take natural materials from the environment to build something lasting and enduring that protects, sustains and nourishes the community on every level. The ‘Old Adobe Missions’ were built in the early days of California in an attempt to bring civilization to this wild area. Although these ‘Missions’ hold a certain romance in history, people have polarized perspectives of their actual significance. There’s the romantic colonial version of altruistic Spanish missionaries and soldiers laboring to bring religion and European culture to the backward native peoples, and then there’s the revisionist version: white intruders subjugating and persecuting the Indians, indoctrinating them with religion, killing them off with strange new diseases and obliterating their culture. Somewhere in the middle, the truth can most likely be found.

Sometimes it’s easy to assume that one’s beliefs are right and that others need to be shown the “real truth” or a better way to live their life. Efforts sometimes need to be turned toward creating the infrastructure to pursue our beliefs and way of life and this can enrich everyone’s lives. There is a need for the provision of faith, love and shelter to those who require it. However, the effort may be too big for some and may leave them feeling “homesick”, “homeless” or without a cause. It may be a case of someone trying to change or dominate the core beliefs of someone else, causing emotional restriction and pain. The truth to be remembered is that contributing to other's lives and caring about people in a community is not about control, but acceptance of, and reverence for, each person’s divinity. There’s no need for strict conformity, manipulation or pretension here.

Keywords: Spiritual retreats in natural surroundings. Finding new areas to work with spirit. Creating civilization out of natural elements. Hard work to create places of sanctuary and learning. Places once revered now tourist attractions. Forging links to new worlds. Missions and missionaries. Bringing faith to the “new world”. Brotherhoods. Places that house and protect.

The Caution: Dogmatism. Pushing beliefs and ideas onto others. Believing one’s spiritual and religious beliefs contain all the answers. Taking over others' lives. Moving in and taking control. Monuments to the past sagging and fading. People moving in on others. Cults. Indoctrination.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) of this new Moon is Capricorn 30: Directors of a Large Firm Meeting in Secret Conference.

The ‘Directors’ come together as there are decisions to be made and plans to be discussed and pursued. Wherever those in authority gather, they rule and govern outcomes for themselves and others. A ‘Large Firm’ can manifest in any area of life—on an emotional, spiritual or physical level.

There can be a feeling of being out of direct control of the decisions being made by the ‘Directors of a Large Firm’. No matter how much you are on the “inside”, you may not be hearing all that is being said. Hence, there’s a need to be cautious about what you presume, or imagine, to be really going on. Are you involved in a process without really knowing the bigger picture? You may be excluded because you don’t really have enough knowledge of the system, or have the authority, to make an informed decision or to call the shots. However, you, or others, may just be “shut out”. Things kept from others can be very painful, especially when the truth comes to light. The belief that someone is spying on others, or talking about them, can lead to a sense of paranoia with suspicion of the motives pervading the atmosphere. Information may be deliberately withheld as a way of maintaining power by secrecy. Call on the appropriate knowledgeable friends or authorities, with them you may be able to iron out the details. Some may not want others to know what’s going on, or is that just how it looks from the outside? This Symbol can also be about the processing of inner issues and thoughts. Things may feel out of your control and influenced by unknown forces. Be aware of what’s happening, although you may feel as though you are being shut out, you can still make an effort to be heard or at least make your presence felt. Strategies may need to be made and carried out in the best way for all involved.

Keywords: Sharing innermost secrets. Confidential information. Masterly control. Big guys calling the shots. Being too busy to see people of “lesser” importance in your life. Rationing time. The Quest Symbol (the degree following) of the new Moon is Aquarius 2: An Unexpected Thunderstorm. This can be alarming, but it can also be very illuminating and wonderful. We get zapped by that energy and all kinds of good things can come about. 

Keywords: Sudden visitations of natural wonder. Something that drops on you, seemingly from out of nowhere. Things erupting and happening fast. Storms in a teacup. Shocks and confrontations with raw energy. Thunder, lightning and electricity. The Tower card of the tarot. Being a lightning rod. Water and rain that quenches and revives. Things being unleashed.

The Caution: Losing control without warning. Emotional instability. A “back draft” of emotions. Bottling up and blowing up. Confused by sudden outbursts. Loud bangs and crashes that shock and stun. Seizing up with fear. Sudden unleashing of emotions. Hurricanes of messy energy

Uranus, the ruler of this new Moon, is exactly conjunct (together with) the Moon's south node. Both are on Aries 13: A Bomb Which Failed To Explode Is Now Safely Hidden From Discovery. As I've mentioned previously, although the 'Bomb' is said to be 'Safely Hidden', with Uranus there, there is a good chance that there might be some 'explosions' to deal with. Now, explosions can come in all shapes and sizes and intensities, and, they can be shocking, revealing, liberating or any number of things in their effects. There could be, especially with the Quest Symbol of the Unexpected Thunderstorm, big insights and revelations that bring about changes, or the desire for change. 

As in an explosion, I would erupt with all the wonderful things I saw and understood in this world. Boris Pasternak

Uranus and the south node being exactly conjunct is saying that's it's time to let go of old attitudes, relationships, issues, possessions, clutter, weight issues, etc, and to let go of them in order to heal issues from the past. It seems we are set to 'rewrite the book' on who we are. Many people are set to walk away from the things that aren't working and this will be a liberating act, although some may be rather shocked at how suddenly it happens. Sudden revelations are bound to be part of the picture. Pluto is also in the mix here, as it is squaring the nodes and Uranus. 

Keywords: Pressure valves. Getting away with something. Tantrums and frustration. Tempers that simmer. Explosive behavior. Bombs, explosions. Sudden and forceful events. Intelligence organizations, CIA, FBI, ASIO, etc. Valuable lessons of self-restraint. Relief from problems. Discharging nervous energy. Security checks. Last minute escapes.

The Caution: Suppressing stress or illness. Doing inappropriate things and thinking the secret safe. Repressing emotions. Undefined anger. Pressure cooker energy that needs to be released slowly. Explosions damaging more than expected. Activists. Deception behind one’s back. Clash of ideals. Terrorism.

Very soon after the new Moon, three or so days after, Uranus moves onto Aries 14: A Serpent Coiling Near A Man And A Woman. Uranus spent months on this degree last year and it's here again, bringing tension, insight, difficulty and release, particularly around relationships. Relationships, or one's understanding of them, can go through major upheavals, realignments and adjustments, etc. The 'revelation of knowledge' can lead to understanding what's really going on around relationships.

Disgust or distrust of the body. Sexually transmitted diseases. Hiding nudity or sexuality. Being thrown out of paradise.

Pluto is on Capricorn 14: An Ancient Bas-Relief Carved In Granite Remains A Witness To A Long-Forgotten Culture. Pluto on this Symbol has been uncovering several ancient sites - it's been interesting to observe. In our own lives, it can show how we can be a 'witness' to our past - what has been 'carved in granite' that you perhaps need to let go of? Pluto has, for ages now, been squared by Uranus and it is squaring the Moon's nodes as well. This is bringing up all kinds of messages and the need to transform our lives in ways that will benefit our future.

The Moon's north node is on Libra 13: Children Blowing Soap Bubbles. This placement could bring up things such as - are you having enough fun in your life? Are you being creative? Almost immediately after the new Moon, within two hours to be exact, Mercury moves onto Aquarius 18: A Man Being Unmasked At A Masquerade. Mercury goes retrograde on the 21st on this degree. Therefore, this is a major theme of Mercury and it sits on this degree for quite a few days, both at the beginning of the retrograde and again when it passes over this degree again around the 4th March. With Mercury here, secrets will be revealed, realisations will be dropping into place and it will be interesting to see what happens on the world stage. Who will have their 'mask' stripped away? And, what masks can you remove so you can more authentically both see yourself and reveal yourself to others?

Right up until moments before the new Moon, Venus is on Aquarius 20: A Woman Disappointed And Disillusioned, Facing A Seemingly Empty Life. Some people, no doubt, will be feeling this. I think this new Moon is about finding our faith, again, that life is going to be ok, even if it's been testing and difficult. We have to have faith - what alternative is there?

Mars is on Pisces 7: Illuminated By A Shaft Of Light, A Large Cross Lies on Rocks Surrounded By Sea And Mist. This is a difficult degree and it can be a real challenge to maintain that faith and hope. For some, this can be a wake up call to not trust in those things that don't support us, that don't love us back. Of course, this placement, especially as Mars is conjunct Neptune, is likely to bring up issues to do with the Church, religion, extremism, terrorism, etc. We have had so much of it lately, I think people are getting sick and tired of hearing about it. It's terrorism this and terrorism that. Every single news report contains the word 'terror'. We are being terrorized by the news and I think that we are being more terrorised by the news than we are by actual events. It is constant and it is wearying and debilitating.

Neptune is on Pisces 6: A Parade Of Army Officers In Full Dress. There's been a lot of bad press around the police and the armed services and ISIS and Boko Harum, all kinds of negative things have been unfolding that could be explained by Neptune being on this degree. It does, obviously, have it's beauty, though, this degree is about turning up when it's needed, to be able to put on our 'uniform' and get going, to help people out, to know what to do in an emergency, to know how to pull through for both yourself and others. It can be quite selfless, particularly as it's Neptune in Pisces on this degree. Many may feel tired of constantly having to put on a brave face and show up for others. It can be a tiring responsibility and there can be a considerable amount of sacrifice in it.

Jupiter is retrograde on Leo 20: American Indians Perform A Ritual To The Sun. Jupiter is opposite both Venus and Mercury, this can bring about a degree of extravagance around spending money, making plans, having big ideas, etc. It can show a wonderful largesse of character, but it can also show were we might do well to examine if we - or others - are being bossy, demanding, wanting too much, blowing things out of proportion, etc. It can also indicate how the 'forces that be' are putting measure in place to keep us more under control, more under surveillance, often through the guise of 'protecting our freedoms' when often, the exact opposite is happening. Our freedoms are being eroded more and more in that measure but we can find liberation and release within ourselves, of course.

Saturn is on Sagittarius 3: Two Men Playing Chess. This can bring up arguments and squabbling, but it can also show how it can work to get into 'strategies' in life so you can 'win' and come out on top of situations. The tricky bit might be that it may not work to 'knock out' your 'opponents', but to find better ways to deal with stressful or challenging situations. The 'opponent', of course, can be in our own minds, we may find that we are bickering with our thoughts and trying to find solutions in ways that put us at a disadvantage in life. Mars and Neptune are squaring Saturn, which can bring about a feeling of frustration, sacrifice and loss when really, we would benefit more from taking a breather and looking at possible solutions that could benefit everyone. We can see this playing out on the world stage, too.

Chiron is on Pisces 15: An Officer Drilling His Men In A Simulated Attack. Chiron here can have us going over and over things in our minds - what will happen? Is something going to go wrong? Are things going to go pear-shaped? Am I, my life, my city, my country, my religion, my spiritual life, under attack? I have long seen Chiron as The Stories We Tell Ourselves and this Symbol can have us imagining all kinds of scenarios. The trick is to separate out what is real and what is just a figment of our imaginations.

Well, there are difficult energies in this new Moon, but, if we identify and let go of the fears and the feelings of sacrifice and turn our faces to what is real and valuable in our lives, we can find this time to be a brand new beginning.

January's Cancerian full Moon falls on January 4 in the US and January 5 in Australia. It's a BIG full Moon - I know we've had some doozies, but this definitely aces that definition. For starters, we have the Sun, the Moon, Uranus, Pluto and the north and south nodes all closely aspecting each other in a tight grand-cross configuration. This can bring stress and difficulty, but it can also bring about resolutions and release. This full Moon is smack on the Sun of the 4th July chart of the US. 

I see this huge configuration as being one of releasing ourselves, but that may come about because of what is not working in our life now. This feels like a make-it or break-it period. If it's never going to work out for you, why stick at it? If you're banging your head against a brick wall, will you continue to do it or find a way out of your dilemma? It's not always easy, but this feels like a very 'karmic' (whatever that means :) ) full Moon.

December's Capricorn new Moon falls on December 22 in Australia and December 21 in the United States. This new Moon is smack on the Solstice - absolutely smack on it. We are being asked to gather up our strength, to stand strong within our sense of self determination, self confidence and being ready to lead the charge towards the things we want in life. This new Moon occurs right when Saturn - the ruler of this Capricorn new Moon - is leaving Scorpio and going into Sagittarius. The last few years have seen Saturn going through Scorpio, and for many, and for the world, it has been a rather difficult, confronting period. Hopefully, Saturn's sojourn through Sagittarius will be an easier ride. At the very least, we can hope for a less intense time. This new Moon's energy takes us into 2015, so, it seems that standing up, standing tall and taking on your own individual power is one of the major messages as we move into the new year.

December's Gemini full Moon falls on Saturday, December 6. After so many very stressful lunations (new and full Moons), this full Moon seems to hold a better charge around it. There are some great aspects in this chart, most notably from Uranus, which is sextiling the Moon and trining the Sun and Mercury, which translates to issues of freedom, taking on new things, wanting change, desiring to break free, etc. Uranus can bring about the ability to break free, not just the promise of it. First, though, we may have to defuse a few situations, to take the 'charge' out of situations, relationships, our thoughts, etc.

We need to see possibility as there is possibility in this full Moon. Although we are not there yet ,this is a great time to visualise where you want to be in 2015. This full Moon is about letting go of limitations - not only because Uranus can have us wanting more freedom and liberation from constraints, but, also, we have Venus in a lovely trine aspect with Jupiter - with a tip of the hat to the Moon's nodes. This can be loving, expansive, giving, bring a sense of good fortune and the promise of good times and enjoyment with friends and family. But as always, there is a caveat - a warning - there can be a little too much expansion happening in the form of spending money, throwing caution to the wind, partying, wanting to kick over the traces of the past. All this is good, but Jupiter can have us marching at full force towards our desires when, really, we may benefit from taking a moment to assess what our goals really are and going towards them in a way that is sustainable, approachable and realistic. November's Sagittarius new Moon occurs on November 22 in Australia and November 21 in the United States. This new Moon has a particularly 'martial' or 'military' feel to it, with the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Saturn and Uranus all having this tone or flavor. Also, the degrees that follow for some of the other planets, such as Mars and Neptune, also have military or martial tones to them. It is a very curious line-up of planets, but then there often is a theme of some sort that shines through - it is just that this is a very pointed theme. How we handle it may be a measure of our ability to stand strong with our belief in the goodness of life and that good things are unfolding - and exactly as they should be. Of course, many people are having a good time in their lives, but for those who are feeling rather tested or pushed, this could be a time of having to reconnect with one's positive thoughts and feelings.

November's Taurus full Moon occurs on November 7 in Australia and November 6 in the United States. With all the worry and fear that's been perpetrated world-wide with threats of epidemic and contagion and terrorism, it's been a very full-on time for many. We have been hearing of people afraid, with little of what's being worried about based on reality, and it has been concerning and largely propaganda induced, and I'm hoping that most people are seeing through the fear that's being spread. This full Moon shows the need to keep our heads above water and keeping an eye on what is really going on (whatever that might be!).

October's new Moon is a partial solar eclipse. Occurring on October 23 in the United States and the morning of October 24 in Australia, the eclipse will be visible over parts of Russia, Japan, and, before sunset, across most of north America. Solar eclipses occur once every six months and they often bring about endings and beginnings. Certainly, we often have big things happen right on or around eclipses and this one is set to be no exception. The Sabian Symbols are rather evocative and could be signalling some difficult times, or, and this is more likely, liberating times and events for many as we continue to leave issues, people, places and things behind us that are no longer serving. Please keep in mind that all new moons can hold an effect for many months into the future, but the eclipses can signal a pouring out of energy that can stretch even further into the future. What is released or started or what this eclipse season holds for you really depends on your individual situation, your chart, and, often, your consciousness, but it is probably safe to say that big things can be unleashed now and how they work out, for better or for worse, for you is something subjective to you - depending on how you see what's going on in your life.

This coming full Moon is a total lunar eclipse. It's one of a tetrad (four) of lunar eclipses, starting with the total lunar eclipse on April 15 of this year. A tetrad occurs when all four lunar eclipses in a row are total. It is not completely uncommon, but it is a rather rare occurrence and we are in the middle of the action now. During this century, there will be eight occurrences of tetrads in total. Further, all of these lunar eclipses are visible from the United States and Australia. So, it is rather special, especially as we have so much energy being whipped up through the signs of Aries and Libra as the four eclipses highlight those signs each time. These eclipses are, and will, have a big impact on relationships. The eclipse will be visible over North America after midnight on Wednesday, October 8th, and visible from the Pacific, Australia, and east Asia after sunset on the evening of October 8th.

September's new Moon is a promising one of change, resurrection, hope, love and new beginnings. Falling a day after the spring/autumn equinox, we have an extraordinary line-up of Symbols on this new Moon that feel very positive, while giving us a bit of prompt to take on the challenge to lift our game, to rise above any problems, to feel a sense of 'ascension' happening in our lives. The basic thrust of this new Moon is the distinct possibility of getting one's mojo back. The stuck becomes unstuck and synchronicities and magical moments arise continually, as this new Moon is very much about taking a leap forward. Some will be baby steps and some will be great strides towards your objectives. In the lead up to the new Moon, many may be feeling a sense of disillusionment, especially as Mars and Neptune are squaring off against each other. This coming new Moon, on September 24, occurs on a fabulous degree and it is right smack on the Super Galactic Center. The SGC is said to be an even more supercharged place than the Galactic Center of Sagittarius - but then I imagine there are no particular demands that one be bigger or better than other - they are both fabulous placements for connecting in with what has been described as "The Mind Of God".

September's full Moon falls on September 9 in Australia and September 8 in the United States. It's another big lunation with big messages for us. This full Moon is conjunct (together with) Chiron - The Wounded Healer and The Stories We Tell Ourselves, which means that Chiron is right smack on the Moon and opposition the Sun in this full Moon. With this, we are being asked to look at our 'wounds', at our 'stories' and to analyse where we can let go of the story and ascend into a new version of reality - one that is more aligned with who and what we want to be. We have quite opposing energies going on, also, with Mercury and Pluto in square aspect and Venus and Neptune opposite each other. This can bring about a feeling of on, off, on, off, stop-go, it's my fault - it's our fault, hard, soft, easy does it versus going in hard.

August's Virgo new Moon occurs on August 25 in the United States and August 26 in Australia. This is a very interesting new Moon in that it contains strong Saturnian and Neptunian energies. These two planets represent very different energies and this could have a lot of people feeling rather torn. On the one hand, Neptune in Pisces opposite the new Moon in Virgo can bring up visions, dreams, the desire to love and be loved, to be held, to feel safe, to be able to pursue dreams, and it can also bring up issues to do with boundaries, what one will or won't have in life, what is and what isn't acceptable, and perhaps, that old Neptunian nugget, codependent relationships and knowing when to balance the scales on giving and receiving.

The Leo new Moon falls on July 27 in Australia and July 26 in the United States. It's another very meaningful lunation which promises to bring quite a few changes, or, in some cases, upheavals, in our lives or in the world around us. This new Moon is Leo 4 conjunct (together with) Jupiter on Leo 3 - they are only one degree apart. Mars is finally in Scorpio, on Scorpio 1, after spending what seemed like an eternity in Libra, and Mars is gathering speed and it is also gathering strength. Mars is squaring this Leo new Moon from Scorpio, and it is also squaring Jupiter, ratcheting up the energy. Further Venus and Pluto are tightly opposing each other, which also heralds a strong sense of change on many levels. Decisions will be made around relationships, money, investments, debt, loyalties, friendships, desires, etc. This could be a new Moon of power struggles, or, it could be a time for us to discover how powerful we really are. 

We have a lot of charged-up energies going on around and within us and the last few weeks have not been easy. Here in Australia, we are mourning the loss of 27 (some say 28) Australians in the Malaysian Airlines bombing - a terrible, sad, twisted story. Weirdly, when the Malaysian Airlines plane went missing some months ago, Mars was just going retrograde and was passing over Libra 28: An Airplane Sails, High In The Bright Clear Sky, and Mars was retrograde on that degree for a number of days. Now, months later, Mars is going direct again over this degree, and coming out of the shadow of the retrograde, and Vesta is also on Libra 28, and we have the second Malaysian Airlines catastrophe. One wonders how these things work - it is weird and amazing and it really makes me scratch my head how the Symbols can so clearly and literally outline what is happening. 

We also have the horror stories coming out of Gaza and Israel - all hard to reconcile. The Sun and Mars have been squaring each other these last few days with the Sun on Cancer 27: A Furious Storm In A Canyon Filled With Valuable Homes and Mars on Libra 27 - the Airplane Sails High degree. Bombs and airplanes and wanting to escape from it all. 

In the days following the new Moon, realities and emotions will be tested and issues and questions that have been hanging in the air will be resolved - at least many of those questions will, although, as always, there will be some left hanging in mid-air waiting for those realisations and decisions. 

The Sabian Symbol for the new Moon is Leo 4: A Man Formally Dressed Stands Near Trophies He Brought Back From A Hunting Expedition. The following interpretations are taken from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom.  

‘A Man Formally Dressed Stands Near Trophies’ is an image of someone putting on their best attire and showing something that’s seen by himself and others as being a reward for achieving success in what is probably normally a male dominated arena. These are ‘Trophies He Brought Back From a Hunting Expedition’ and they are his to display or show off. It can be something he’s found, fought, shot or “bagged” in some way. It’s safe to assume that he’s very proud of his success and he may have had to endure incredible stress and dangers to acquire it. Whatever the ‘Trophies’ are, it is one thing to achieve them and another to then display these achievements for all to see.

This Symbol shows that there may be the urge, or the need, to impress others. There should always be some form of recognition or award for a job well done. Being proud and having a sense of satisfaction for accomplishing something should be awarded and congratulated. But just what are the rewards and spoils that you’re after? Some people will be pleased with the display, but there’s the possibility of some being uninterested and further, others could be distinctly unimpressed. Think carefully of the effects before you do anything as others may feel jealous or try to shoot you down for showing off. The ‘Trophies’ can be diplomas and awards for performing both physically and academically. Have you truly accomplished something? If so you should be acknowledged and congratulated, OR, are they just “things” that you can claim for yourself without considering where they’ve come from or caring about what had to be done to achieve them?

Keywords: Trophies of conquest. The desire to show oneself. Proving one’s animal instincts for the benefit of social position. Displays of manliness. The spoils of daring and courage. Notches on the belt. Victories over another. Trophies awarded for one’s club, social standing or country. Looking for pats on the back. Diplomas. Guns, rifles, ammunition. Academy Awards. Animal liberationists.

The Caution: Dominating nature with power. Showing off one’s spoils. Warfare and the ravages of it. Keeping tabs on one’s conquests. Boasting of masculine prowess. Living in the past. Arrogance. Seeing things as objects to conquer. Testosterone overloads. Compromises made to attain social acceptance. Envious responses to success.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) this new Moon is also the same degree of Jupiter, Leo 3: A Mature Woman, Keeping Up With The Times, Having Her Hair Bobbed. This Symbol seems to imply that it's time to stretch our wings and to find a sense of inner and outer freedoms and to let go of some of the social constraints that may be binding us to certain behaviours, relationships or habits. 

Keywords: Making an effort to keep up with trends. Asserting one’s independence from social constraints. Wanting to shrug off the years. Adopting a younger attitude. Following the herd. Going along with the things for the sake of being trendy. Plastic surgery. Changing appearances. Hairdressers and hairstyles. Gray hair. Hats and scarves. Meeting the challenges of age. Radiating sexuality. Bad hair days. Mid-life crisis. Being a trendsetter.

The Caution: Relying on external fashion to disguise inner emptiness. Cosmetic changes that are transitory. Making superficial but not meaningful alterations. Fashion slaves. The illusion of keeping up with the times. Giving up on one’s appearance. Battling society’s glorification of youth. Mutton dressed up as lamb.

The Quest Degree (degree after) of the new Moon is Leo 5: Rock Formations Towering Over A Deep Canyon. We may be pushed to jump into the void, to take a big step, a big risk, or to figure out where we may have painted ourselves into a corner. 

Keywords: Old structures and deep hazards. The choice: taking chances or standing still. Walking very close to the edge. Extreme sports. Risk taking. New takes on old situations. Additions to things long established. Masada. Mountains. Valleys and gorges. Fortifications. Isolation. The grandeur of nature. The forces of evolution. Rock. Geology. Layers of permanence. Landscapes. Canyons. Vertigo. No going back. Stability behind - the unknown in front. Great heights. Monuments. 

The Caution: Painting oneself into a corner. Not being able to retrace one’s steps. Instability. Erosion. Jumping into the void without a safety net. Cracks appearing. Doing a “Geronimo”. Being right on the edge. Feeling like life is impossibly hard. 

The Karmic Condition of Jupiter is Leo 2: An Epidemic Of Mumps. Keeping control of situations can be key here and there may be realisations around when to speak and when not to, when to let on what you're feeling and when to keep quiet about it. Things can get out of hand with this Symbol, and, as Jupiter has already passed over it, it may be necessary to do whatever needs to be done in order to rein in emotions, thoughts, events, possibilities before they get out of their safe boundaries.

Hiding one’s self away for fear of contagion. Fear of sharing one’s self with others. Obsession with health. Embarrassment. Impotence. Contagious thoughts. Negative thinking and compulsive actions. The complications of disease. Media frenzies. Problems that multiply with alarming speed. 

Mercury is on Cancer 21: A Prima Donna Singing. Someone may be 'sounding off' - creating a noise, being a diva or a prima donna and wanting to make a big noise. Of course, the Prima Donna Symbol can be fabulous; there can be a desire to talk, or sing, about one's culture, one's feelings, desires or needs. 

Keywords: Powerful voice. Emotional dramatizations. Talent. Taking center stage. Messages that need to be heard for social reasons. Playing out the myths of society. Makeup, hairstyles, wigs and costumes. Feeling important and special. Singing and performing. Opera and drama. Fame and fortune. Charisma and presence. Commanding center stage. Having control and good timing (or not). Flowers or brickbats. Years and years of training or improvising on the spot. 

The Caution: Overplaying one’s role. Displaying noisily. Driving people to distraction. Refusing to keep quiet. Demanding to be heard. Wanting everyone to listen. Overreacting. Throwing tantrums. Not knowing when to stop. Passions worn on the sleeve. Showing off. 

Venus is on Cancer 11: A Clown Is Caricaturing Well Known Personalities. Sometimes we have to 'put on a good face', smile and act like everything is OK. Sometimes we have to act like the clown in order to spread good cheer to others. We may see some around us, particularly political figures (I'm imagining), putting on an act and puffing themselves up. There is a bit of theatre in this Leo new Moon conjunct Jupiter and square Mars and with Mercury and Venus on these theatrical degrees. There's a feeling of 'propaganda much?'. 

Keywords: Exaggerated responses. Wanting to entertain. Show business. Trying to be something or someone that one’s not. Putting on a face. Comic performances. Parodies of personalities. Making fun of someone. Clowns and clowning. Life imitating art. Always performing. Irony. Satire. Objective observance. Criticism. Laughter. Caricatures. Cartoons. Lampooning. Voice impressions. 

The Caution: Being foolish in the face of positive potential. Trying to cover up reality through buffoonery. Being constantly “on stage”. Living vicariously. Inauthentic behavior. Not having the courage to display one’s true self. Putting on a face to manipulate or fool others. Irritating behavior that wears thin after a while. Being the laughing stock. Overblown impressions. Loss of true identity. 

Mars is on Scorpio 1: Tourists On A Sight-Seeing Bus. Mars is squaring both the new Moon and Jupiter, which can bring about heightened emotions, ambitions, anger, determination, friction and all kinds of Marsy possibilities. This degree often shows the feeling of being separate, being an observer, not really participating. Mars here could bring up issues to do with feeling like an alien in a strange land - as if you're thrown out in some way; not accepted, not belonging, not wanting to belong perhaps. 

Keywords: Observing life. Feeling disconnected from reality. UFO’s and aliens. Seeing how other people live. Watching from afar. Tourists, traveling, buses. Suitcases and luggage. Cameras, pictures, souvenirs. Tour guides. Timing and being on time. The untried and untrodden or the same old road. Getting lost in something for hours. Foreign territories. New ways of seeing. 

The Caution: Feelings of naivety and gullibility. Feeling like an alien even in familiar surroundings. Making assumptions about others’ lives. Disconnections from reality. Not fitting in. Expecting things to be done without any personal expenditure of effort or resources. Getting out of one’s depth. Having difficulty calling one’s own agenda. Separation anxiety. Inability to concentrate.

Straight after the new Moon, Mars will move onto Scorpio 2 - this degree speaks about letting things out, breaking or shattering and it can be a bit upsetting, although it can also be very relieving as the pressure is relieved - it's A Broken Bottle And Spilled Perfume. There will need to be a release of energies on many levels. 

Saturn is on Scorpio 17: A Woman, Filled With Her Own Spirit, Is The Father Of Her Own Child. Saturn is going direct after being retrograde since early March. Many have been learning how to look after themselves, or, have been thrown back onto themselves. It can be a tiring responsibility, but it can be strengthening with Saturn on this degree and now things are likely to free up in some sense as Saturn starts to move forward again. 

Keywords: Single parenthood. Being proud of one’s individuality. Feeling capable of anything. Spiritual experiences that fill one with one’s own spirit. Self-reliance. The lack of a father figure. Invitro fertilization. The complications of adoption. Self sufficiency. Facing the world feeling whole. Having the right to determine one’s future. The story of the conception of Jesus.

The Caution: Uncompromising feminism or chauvinism. Feeling like one has to be responsible for everything. Unrealistic independence. Being left alone and abandoned. Having no one to turn to for support. Being an adult before one’s time.

Uranus is on Aries 17: Two Prime Spinsters Sitting Together In Silence. Saturn is going direct while Uranus is going retrograde - this can spell an interesting period of stop, go, stop, go, but I think there will be more go going on as the impetus for forward movement is quite strong. With Uranus on this degree for the last few weeks, many have been learning about relationships and relating with each other. Many have been spending quite a bit of time along, or just hanging out occassionally with a special friend. Saturn and Uranus have been in a tight quincunx (150 degrees apart) relationship - which can be rather stressful. I have long seen the quincunx to be like the 'itch that is hard to scratch' - especially with Saturn in quincunx to Uranus - that is archetypally that. Innovative ideas are probably what's most needed and yet Uranus has been giving off rather 'old hat' energy, or, feeling the need to project a younger, more vital, freer energy. 

Keywords: The need to loosen up emotional blockages. The struggle to hold onto one’s original identity. Compromise because of social expectations. Meditations that communicate. Exclusive relationships. Relationships that have a quiet “knowing”. Dignified silence. Inner withdrawal. Communicating through body language.

The Caution: Emotional isolation. Refusing to accept relationship. Pretending to be someone that one is not. Disapproval of younger, more vital energies. Being fussy and judgmental. Chattering that is not conducive to growth or true relating. Gossip. Difficulty in communicating. Being shutoff, or shutdown. The loss of joy and spontaneity. 

Neptune is retrograde on Pisces 8: A Girl Blowing A Bugle. Neptune seems to be saying that we need to sound off, make a noise, announce or have realisations around our desires, our artistic or spiritual lives. Sometimes, however, with Neptune here, we may speak out of turn, make a noise and then regret it, blow our stack and regret it later. Finding the middle ground between what is and what isn't worth doing or saying is key here. 

Keywords: Sounding the call. Awakening all to action. Going on and on about something. Loudspeakers, telephones, announcements. Being prepared to state one’s case. Calling attention to one’s self. Blowing your own trumpet. Whistle blowers. Heralding and proclaiming the dawn. Rise and shine! Girls in a man’s world. Leading the charge. Resurrection. Mass announcements. Advertising campaigns. Alarm clocks. Ear plugs. Blind folds. Breaking a fast. Proclamations. 

The Caution: Making unwarranted and disturbing noise. Showing off. Unbalanced messages. Evangelists and politicians. Sounding the call but not making the grade. Being annoying. Trumpeting about one’s achievements. Not listening to people.

Neptune will soon move backwards onto Pisces 7: Illuminated By A Shaft Of Light, A Large Cross Lies On Rocks Surrounded By Sea And Mist. This can bring pu issues of misplaced loyalties and feeling like some bigger agenda is calling the shots, or, like one's life has been sacrificed or tossed aside in some way. It's not an easy degree, but it can be one of reconnecting with your true spiritual values. 

Pluto is on Capricorn 12: A Student Of Nature Lecturing, Revealing Little Known Aspects Of Life. I get the sense that, like the last time that Pluto was on this degree last year, there will be quite a few revelations around the climate and climate change and insights into what makes our lives tick. This is a very meaningful degree and one that can have many wonders and amazing things revealed. For many, there will be realisations about the nature of reality, how we live in a rather holographic universe, etc. 

Keywords: Observing what’s around and translating it so others may learn. Green politics. Revealing things and issues the conservatives don’t want revealed. Nature and natural remedies. Science and its rewards and drawbacks. Issues such as global warming. Whistle blowers. Natural healing methods. Documentaries. Conspiracy theories. 

The Caution: Radical non-humanistic views. Intellectual smugness. ‘Lecturing’ and browbeating. Modern technological advances that stifle the environment. Lip service to conservation issues.

Chiron is on Pisces 18: In A Huge Tent, A Famous Revivalist Conducts His Meeting With A Spectacular Performance. This new Moon has quite the emphasis on 'performance and performing' and there could be reasons to see through people's actions to see what is really being said or conveyed. This and the Prima Donna of Mercury and the Bugle of Neptune certainly are whipping up quite a lot of 'sounding off'. 

Keywords: Energy and inspiration. Evangelism. Whipped up emotions. Having a lot to say. Being instructional and dogmatic about how things should be. Being in charge. Ecstasy. Loud voices. Conversations that are said out loud. Acoustics affecting sounds. Evangelism. Preaching. Mind control. Performing. Political, religious and spiritual activism. Showmanship. Transformative experiences. Captivated audiences. The media circus.

The Caution: Using spiritualism for greedy financial gain. Overblown feelings of one’s abilities. Big egos. Hysteria. People whipped-up and manipulated by those in charge. Having the agenda of controlling others. Feeling that one has all the answers. Getting het-up about ideals and beliefs. Manipulation and exploitation. Bigotry.

The Moon's north node is on Libra 23: Chanticleers Voice Heralds The Rising Sun With Enthusiastic Tones. Here, also, is the thing of 'sounding off'... it will be interesting to see what happens with this new Moon. Certainly, the government and the media are likely to be making a lot of noise, perhaps more noise than usual, but we may find that we have announcements and realisations to make as well. 

Keywords: Anticipating new opportunities. Waking early. Being a morning person. Having a clear, beautiful or loud voice. Speaking up when it’s needed. Heralding the new age. Seeing things ahead of their time. Being attuned to cosmic forces. Change or renewal. Someone associated with new things. Always being on the go. Being eternally vigilant. Alarms that spur to action.

The Caution: Overstating ones role, talents or abilities. Needing a wake-up call (literally and symbolically). Crowing about things disturbing others. Being noisy when others are trying to sleep. Loud and irritating. 

All in all, this feels like a very dynamic new Moon - and one that will probably have a lot of noise being made, I imagine mostly by the media. It is bound to be an interesting and meaningful time. It could be one of expansion and abundance and going for your objectives - it pays to direct your energies wisely and not scatter them - as always.

July's Capricorn full Moon falls on July 12 and it is the first of three super moons - which means that the Moon is at it's closest approach to earth - it will be at perigee. Learn more about this here. With the Moon in Capricorn and the Sun in Cancer, this lunation is likely to bring up issues to do with home, finances, security, safety, spending, saving, investing, and probably in the light of the economy in the world at the moment, budgeting so that you can maintain it all. The main thrust of this full Moon is knowing how to work with others, when to 'pass on the baton' and when to run your own race. It's also about listening to your intuition, your inner voice, or, perhaps those messages that keep trying to make their way into your consciousness.

June's Cancer new Moon occurs on June 27 and is a fairly stressful new Moon, but one that contains quite a lot of promise for the future. There are some pretty gnarly planetary aspects and the Sabian Symbols that go with them add up to some rather testing times, but once we are through the new Moon and a few days into this lunation, I feel that things will improve in wondrous ways

June's Gemini full moon falls on the 13th June and is a pretty super-charged and gnarly one. Yes, again. The Big Kahunas of this full Moon are Venus in Taurus opposite Saturn retrograde in Scorpio and Mars in Libra opposing Uranus in Aries and squaring Pluto in Capricorn. So, Mars is back in the mix forming a t-square with the big bad boys who are known for waking us up and moving us about and wreaking at least some form of havoc. 

This full Moon is set to bring up some issues that may have been kept below the surface or under control in some way. Power battles, some explosions, the worry of not having enough and the reins being pulled way tighter can have people reacting - some times with gratitude and enjoyment of issues dealt with or resolved and sometimes with a sense of frustration that things have finally landed where they are. Certainly, throwing out things from the past is featured as is accepting ones personal power, position and authority.

We've had some pretty gnarly times lately, astrologically speaking and this coming new Moon is another one that will test many people's sensibilities. This is a Gemini new Moon and it is exactly squared by Neptune, which is likely to have some feeling rather disillusioned and wondering what the heck is going to happen next. Some, though, of course, can find a renewed sense of creativity and spirituality, but, it seems, that is likely to be borne from rediscovering one's desires, goals, boundaries, and, perhaps, limits. 

The new Moon is on Thursday, May 29, and there is good and not-so-good news contained in the astrological omens. Jupiter and Saturn are trine, for instance, and this can bring about some good, sound decisions and the desire to move forward. However, about ten days after the new Moon, Mercury goes retrograde, so it's a bit of one-step-forward-two-steps-back - two-steps-forward-one step back. We are likely to be adjusting and readjusting our expectations in amongst it all. 

The Sabian Symbol for the new Moon is Gemini 8: Aroused Strikers Surround A Factory.

What is it that has you, or others, riled up? Do you feel like just sitting down and doing nothing, or, are you feeling like taking it to the streets, yelling and screaming against the inequities of what's going on. I think there's going to be a lot of protesting and complaints as the imbalances in society are getting rather too imbalanced to be sustainable. 

‘Aroused Strikers Surround a Factory’ - they are obviously unhappy with their work, their pay or their conditions, and they are now on ‘Strike’. In some measure, they are not putting up with what they’re receiving for their efforts. For the moment, this has probably stopped anyone from benefiting from anything as events have come to a standstill. This Symbol pictures a power struggle where there is a disagreement over how something of value is to be shared. It may be about work conditions, or the distribution of wealth that results from what people are expected to do. What is the incentive for putting in the effort? The ‘Strikers’ may be calm, but all hell could break loose, turning into a full-blown demonstration with placards, yelling and violence.

What is really needed is a discussion over the need for one’s rights to be heard and hopefully worked out. There is an obvious imbalance of power and now it is time to consider what negotiations can be made. It may be difficult to find creative solutions, but that is probably what is needed now. If you are in a situation where you need to stand up for your rights, or entitlements, or for those of a group, you will probably need the support of others. This could be your co-workers, friends or family. Try to enlist the help of those who feel the same as you, but at the same time take care to be sure that the cause is justified. There is an element of imbalance and emotion here. Is what’s being said really being heard by those who need to hear? Are the ‘Strikers’ asking too much? Justice can only come through negotiation, mutual consideration and a fair sharing of rewards. Once this is accomplished, everyone can come back together, working towards common goals in a more satisfying atmosphere.

The Quest Degree (the degree following) of this new Moon is Gemini 9: A Medieval Archer Stands With The Ease Of One Wholly Sure Of Himself, Bow In Hand, His Quiver Filled With Arrows. 

The ‘Archer’ has ‘His Quiver Filled With Arrows’. He is someone who is ‘Wholly Sure of Himself’, and he has his ‘Bow in Hand’. The ‘Medieval Archer’ was used in great numbers in open battles in England. They could fire as many as fifteen ‘Arrows’ a minute. As the ‘Archer’s Quiver’ is ‘Filled with Arrows’, it seems he may not have drawn ‘His Arrows’ yet. There may be no immediate threat as the ‘Archer’ stands with only the ‘His Bow in Hand’. By being alert, having the ammunition he needs, can assist him to be true to himself, and with vigilance, he can remain ‘Wholly Sure of Himself’.

This situation requires skill, courage, a true sense of confidence and the knowledge to get right to the heart of the matter facing you. If you have some form of test coming up, are you armed with the knowledge and the ammunition you need? Can you face life with calm and a quiet assurance of the soundness of your position? Be careful not to rush into something unprepared. It is not enough to just hope for the best. This will only leave you feeling inadequate if you find yourself unable to cope. If you are on “the hunt” for something, are you prepared for the prize? Don’t be distracted or led away from what needs to be done. Instead, stay focused, armed and ready to go for the objective when it presents itself. Make a strategy, and hit the target. If you get stressed or confused, take a moment to compose yourself and remember that you have the ammunition of knowledge and the marksmanship that confidence and assurance provide. Using the symbol of an ‘Arrow’, or a target, in some way can lead to surprising results.

Neptune is on Pisces 8: A Girl Blowing A Bugle. 

‘A Girl Blowing a Bugle’ brings to mind someone performing reveille; the ‘Bugle’ call used in the armed forces announcing that it is time to “rise and shine”. The ‘Bugle’ is a brass-wind instrument, somewhat like a trumpet, but usually without keys or valves. It has been used mostly for military calls and signals, but it’s also sometimes used as a hunting horn. Its chief function is to sound, to summon, to signal by blowing a ‘Bugle’ call. In dream imagery, the ‘Blowing of a Bugle’ foretells fortunate things coming your way.

You may need to sound the call to wake up those around you, or perhaps be woken yourself. The situation facing you may be bogged down in irrational complexity, when everybody needs to have a central focus and be rallying and going for the objective. There may be unexpected revelations and something can take you by shock. If somebody is “sounding off” loudly, it can cause irritation and upset. Is it you, or another, that’s making all the noise? There may need to be a balance around exactly how much noise one should make. Having a cause to “trumpet” can make people respond by pulling back or being disinterested. Keeping a balance between excited enthusiasm, forward momentum and just plain making noise will bring rewards of some kind – even if it only wakes up those around you. ‘Blowing the Bugle’ too early, or too forcefully, can put people off, which can be the exact opposite of what’s desired. This can lead to people not listening, indeed even running away, instead of being aroused to their duty. Does everyone around want to hear the message that’s being trumpeted, or are they trying, or fighting, to cover their ears? Using simple, receptive innocence will get the situation on track.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) of Neptune is Pisces 7: Illuminated By A Shaft of Light, A Large Cross Lies On Rocks Surrounded By Sea And Mist. This degree always feels very strong and it can be rather disheartening, although the 'Illumination' of the 'Shaft Of Light' does often some form of redemption, or, perhaps, even magic.

This is an image that inspires feelings of chaos and misplaced loyalties. It can feel as though something has been unjustly sacrificed and things have come to nothing. Christ was forsaken on ‘A Large Cross’. A ‘Cross’ can indicate a crucifix and can show the shouldering of faith and hope or trouble and misfortune. The ‘Shaft of Light’ indicates that spiritual and creative help is likely to be at hand.

There could be a feeling that life has not been “good” enough. Thoughts of helplessness can come from feeling as though one’s life is somehow finished and that all is lost. Perhaps one’s aim was too high and things have came crashing down. Feeling forsaken or used in relationships can lead the awful feeling of the loss of belonging or identity. It may indeed seem that much has been lost, but do we really have to continue to suffer so much? Seeing the positive or the spiritual messages that come in dark moments can shed new understandings that transcend even the most difficult times. With faith and a positive outcome in mind, you may experience a true awakening, or a reconnection with your spiritual ideals and hope for the future. A sign may come soon to show that you are on the right track to recovery of life and love. Letting go of outworn relationships, allegiances or beliefs will assist you to move on with a stronger sense of self. However, are there still some worthwhile and wonderful things that can be salvaged or things to be grateful for? Concentrate on ‘The Shaft of Light’ as this can lead you to see that ‘Light’ is indeed all around you.

Mercury is on Gemini 30: A Parade Of Bathing Beauties Before Large Beach Crowds. Mercury is on the last degree of Gemini, and it is slowing down as it is about to go retrograde on June 7. This could be rather frustrating, as Mars is just beginning to gather steam and going direct after months of retrograde grinding in Libra. Although Gemini 30 is a beautiful degree, there can be a superficiality about it - especially when combined with the other elements of this new Moon. This can be about how things look, rather than how they really are.

The water element. Recognizing superficiality and shallow behavior. Water nymphs.

The Caution: Using superficialities to win support. Giving importance to the issues of appearance and neglecting the “beauty within”. Too much makeup. Flaunting one’s body and not employing intellect. Lack of water. Leering, jeering. Lusting after the unattainable. Feeling like merchandise. Making superficial judgments.

Venus is on Aries 30: A Duckpond And It's Young Brood - the last degree of Aries. It seems that questions to do with family, your domestic environment, who is in your 'duckpond', who should be in your duckpond and who shouldn't, along with looking after dependants or those who possibly can't look after themselves. It could be that they are too young, rather immature, not ready or don't have the 'right equipment' yet to be able to go out on their own. Perhaps you find yourself alone and your family is nowhere to be seen. It could be, of course, that you prefer it that way.

Mars is on Libra 10: A Canoe Is Approaching Safety Through Dangerous Waters. Mars is moving slowly as it has recently gone direct after being retrograde for what seems like forever. Mars seems to imply that the 'calm' is coming, but it could feel to many as if we are 'becalmed', with no wind at our backs. It will take a while to get going again and there are some issues to be worked out as Mars tramps through Libra, but at least now we can feel like we're starting to get going again after the lull we've been experiencing.

The Caution: Neglecting to take time to rest. Taking foolhardy risks, believing that all will be okay. Pre-empting situations without completing things in the present. Thinking that “lightning never strikes in the same place twice”. Shooting more rapids. Freezing up and not moving.

Jupiter is on Cancer 20: Venetian Gondoliers In A Serenade. We may need to see through the fantasies that we have built up, or, it could be that we need to see through people who are spinning stories to get a desired result. The 'Gondoliers' can use lies and manipulation to get what they want, or what someone else wants and it could be that someone is greasing someone else's palm.

Saturn is retrograde on Scorpio 19: A Parrot Listening, And Then Talking, Repeats A Conversation He Has Overheard. This can be about things repeated without truly understanding what's been said or what was truly intended. It can be like Chinese whispers where things get blown out of proportion. This degree can also indicate channelling of voices, ideas and messages. Jupiter and Saturn are trining each other and notice how the Symbols both show messages that are coming through need to be carefully filtered or interpreted.

Re-runs of the same old line. Broken records.

Uranus is on Aries 16: Brownies Dancing In The Setting Light Of The Sun. This is one of my favorite degrees (I have a long and fabulous story about this degree) and it can show help arriving when it is needed most. It is a very kind and caring degree and it can indicate last-minute reprieves. Perhaps with Uranus here, we need to pray for miracles to come and they could show up in the most unexpected ways.

Pluto is on Capricorn 14: An Ancient Bas-Relief Carved In Granite Remains A Witness To A Long-Forgotten Culture. What is it that is 'written in stone' and may need to be changed? What are you witnessing that feels draconian or outdated?

Keywords: Anonymous immortality. Things written or carved in stone, or concrete. Permanent records. Clues from the past. Things that should be shaped and changed with the times. Pieces of art or sculpture. Things that belong in a museum. Inscriptions and carvings. Ancient civilizations and their relics. History. 

The Caution: Limitations that don’t allow for changes. Old and outworn situations. Things carved in stone that cannot, or will not, ever change. Memories out of the past that keep one frozen in time. Feeling stuck, like no growth is possible. Frigidity of feelings because of things that have happened.

The Moon's south node is on Aries 28: A Large Disappointed Audience. This backs up the Symbol of the new Moon on The Striking Workers degree. What is it that is disappointing, or how do you feel that you've been let down, or, how do you feel that you are possibly letting others or yourself down? Venus goes over this degree just a few days before the new Moon and it seems it is asking us to let go of relationships or memories or situations that are no longer serving us. 

Keywords: Adjustments of expectations bringing realizations about what is really possible. Expecting the response of others. Walking out during a performance. Not listening to something through a lack of interest. Anticipating a different result from what is delivered. Relying on feedback. Lines and queues of people. Criticism. The need to inspire and enthuse. 

The Caution: Feeling sad, sorry or letdown because of defeat and frustration. A lot of people left feeling emotionally “wiped-out”. Shattering of illusions. Fickleness. The attitude that one can’t do anything. Everything being out of one’s control. Watching what’s going on and not participating. Being at the mercy of the whims and fancies of others. Judging and analyzing oneself or others. Too many people crammed into one spot. Not getting a seat. Refusal of entry. Booing and hissing. 

The Moon's north node is on Libra 28: A Man Alone In Deep Gloom, Unnoticed, Angels Are Coming To His Aid. In many ways, this Symbol reflects the degree of Uranus in that it depicts help arriving when we need it. It helps to keep the faith, even if your hopes have been dashed and you're not sure where the 'Angels' may arrive from. 

Keywords: Feelings of not being alone. Awareness of spiritual help in times of need. Salvation versus depression. Feeling like one’s luck is about to change. Improvements in the pipeline. Changes in the “weather”. Helpers arriving just when they’re needed. Brightening influences. Angels and spiritual forces for good. Guardian angels. 

The Caution: Unrealistic reliance on spiritual agencies or help from others. Feeling like no one cares or that no one is listening. Being alone and forgotten. Losing faith in things getting better. Refusing help. Misery and gloom and doom.

Chiron is on Pisces 18: In A Huge Tent, A Famous Revivalist Conducts His Meeting With A Spectacular Performance. Who are we listening to and who has the floor? Are you getting your message heard? Are you in charge of your own destiny?

This is a very testing new Moon. Of course, there will be many breakthroughs and rewards and wonderful things. However, the energies are likely to be pushing some people to the limit and it may be time for some to declare that enough is enough. Whether it's changing our attitude, saying no to something you no longer will put up with, or, you're seeing how you've been sabotaging your own success, you may need to make a stand and declare your intentions, not only to yourself, but perhaps to others. It's a very interesting time.  

Prophesying Or Pontificating: May's Scorpio Full Moon

May's Scorpio full Moon falls on May 14 in the United States and May 15 in Australia. With Saturn conjuncting (together with) the Moon and opposing the Sun, it feels like a time of throwing things out, lightening one's load, tightening one's belt and generally getting organised or straightening things out. 

This is another dynamic lunation. In particular, Venus is conjunct Uranus and squaring Pluto - there will be a lot of transformations and shifts going on in personal relationships, issues to do with friends, friendships, commitments, duties and issues to do with freedom and authenticity will come up. Some relationships will go by the wayside while others are likely to grow stronger. The major thrust is one of wanting liberation and freedom from control. This will be felt on both a personal and political level.

Occurring on April 29, the new Moon in Taurus is a annular solar eclipse. It is not a total eclipse, but it does have a similar feeling about it. From timeanddate.com: An annular solar eclipse can be observed when the Moon moves centrally in front of the Sun, but it is so far away from Earth that it appears smaller in the sky and cannot cover the Sun completely. The Sun's outer edges are then still visible and form a “ring of fire” around the Moon. Check out that timeanddate.com link as there is some interesting information there, including where the eclipse is visible and at what time around the world.
